Myanmar's de-facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi has claimed that the crisis in Rakhine state is being distorted by a "huge iceberg of misinformation".
In her first comments on the latest Rohingya crisis, she said tensions were being fanned by fake news promoting the interests of terrorists.

Malaysia has taken a lot .... a very brief history of Islam expansion in tropical southeast asia - When the so-called ‘Turkic’ hordes first surged out of the now Afghanistan region , after Islam had rooted itself there , after the failure of the Mongols attempts to eradicate it entirely , The moslems set upon India with a vengeance , There were too many hindus to kill out with the genocides of the day but the perceived god less’ Buddhist suffered mightily . Ultimately being driven from India almost entirely and fleeing/retreating to fastness of the high Himalayas and eastward into the lightly populated jungles of Southeast Asia . Eventually the moslems , who had risen and fallen in power , over a millennium , followed . Now they form an underclass in most SEA countries , yet almost genetically , the Buddhists remember . They remember that when the moslems become a majority in any society they rise up and try to wipe out everyone else , other than moslems . The Burmese know this . Muslims are only kind , timid , wretched and vulnerable ONLY when in a super minority . They are determined to keep that dynamic from ever shifting , or changing , ever again. Frankly , I cannot say as I blame them one bit . There is absolutely nothing to be gained by encouraging moslem societal expansion , or inroads , in non-traditionally muslim countries . They want to be muslim? Stay in those countries . No more expansion . It’s a cancer in the fabric of humanity .
Good for Myanmar; everyone needs to get started on the final solution to the Muslim problem.
This chick is a LEGEND of the Left...she is basically the female version of Nelson Mendela. She won the friggen NOBEL PEACE PRIZE (in 1991, I think)...she basically hated the military government there, but would not leave, as she knew that she couldn’t then return - so house arrest for a very long time.
But her first love, unlike the Alt-Left, is her HOME COUNTRY - which is Burma, in her case.
She sees the Muslim minority acting like just about every other Muslim minority - so she wants an end to the terrorism and killings.
So now she’s nothing but Shiite in the view of the US and European Left - simply because she refuses to support Islamic killings of, almost always, innocent low-level security forces.
