Judge Upholds Requirement Forcing California Churches to Pay for Abortions

Churches in California still are being forced to pay for abortions in their health insurance plans after a federal court dismissed a legal challenge by three churches Friday.

Churches across California have been battling the onerous abortion mandate for years with no relief. The troubling situation began in 2014 when the California Department of Managed Health Care reclassified abortion as a “basic health service” under the Affordable Care Act and ordered all insurance plans in the state to begin covering elective abortions immediately. Even churches are not exempt.

Friday was another defeat for the churches in Foothill Church v. Rouillard when a federal court dismissed their case against the mandate.

Does his authority trump that of the federal court that dismissed it?

Next they will be forcing bakeries to bake cakes and photographers to take pictures.

I believe that is called slavery.

This judge is No-Choice!

We talk about other nations having oppressive governments. I don’t believe many are as oppressive as the liberals have made ours.

They count on fear based obedience. Its way past time to flip them the finger and say “NO, we will not comply”.

The only recourse is US Marshals raiding the church to seize things and arrest people. The dictatorship HATES that. They call it “bad visuals”.

Refusal to obey is way more powerful than we understand.

Perhaps the judge is a typical leftist/statist - but this issue still needs to be addressed by lawmakers in both California (who approved a mandate for abortions) and especially by Congress, who still allows Obamacare to stand.

judges hate opinions that are not their own.

If you don’t like the law “write your useless legislator”

If judges don’t like the law it is unconstitutional/etc...

CA uses federal money for elective abortion.

This is illegal, and the Trunp admin can and should shut down federal funds to CA.

Remember when churches were everywhere, and they said that you'd have to go to back alleys to get an abortion?

Now, abortions are everywhere and you will have to go to a back alley for a mass.

I'd have to see the details of this case, but a religious organization (it may have been Catholic Charities) lost a previous legal challenge in California state court on what seemed to be perfectly legitimate grounds: The court ruled that Catholic Charities isn't a religious organization.

Nothing the Devil wants more than to use the “rule of law” to force Christians into violating conscience and abrogating God’s law. California is lost, people.

I searched the decision. This is the judge. Former Sacramento Deputy Mayor, appointed by Obama in 2010 and “unanimously” confirmed by the Senate.
