It all boils down to who gets to decide what hateful demonstrations are. It is not a very level playing field. It is perfectly alright to hate whites especially working class conservative whites
“Daily Egyptian” … sounds hateful. “Cairo” … deliberate mispronounced … also hateful. “Southern Illinois” … why Southern? … hateful. “Carbondale” … sounds like climate change deniers.
Should rename school. I suggest “Tertiary Education Unit #2 of the State of Obama”. (with U. of I. #1 and Northern #3)
The financial bigwigs of these universities might want to sit down and analyze the extra cash laying around...preparing for court action. I doubt if they can survive more than twenty lawsuits before suggesting layoffs.
SIU, like many Illinois institutions is going downhill very rapidly. Part of it has to do with Illinois’s budget woes and part of it has to do with the institutionalized liberalism/progressivism/radicalism you find on most college campuses. It boasts a remarkably ugly (in my eyes) campus with high-rise dorms that look like they were inspired by Soviet architects.
That campus has good points and bad. For example, you’re right the towers are hideous, but they also have Thompson Point, three story dorms situated on a campus recreation lake. Also woods with walking trails on campus which are nice.
When people say that it’s important to say no way that’s being a nazi watch as fun ensues. I hope the students who get tarred and feathered demand every dime of tuition back. These universities are playing with fire. Couple more years of this and as folks come around to the realization that anything you get in a college education you can get on the internet for free. Why pay to learn to hate myself?

I still do not understand why any of this stuff is being “taught” and implemented into the campus culture. It isn’t just what is going on in the classrooms, it is about what is happening everywhere else on campus.
The MSM is raw hate speech—and they are covered by the first amendment.

Reminds me of fifty years ago when Al Capp’s LI’L ABNER had the hippie S.W.I.N.E (Students Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything)forced their university administration to cow down to their whims. So the University sold out to the MAFIA.
Here came the S.W.I.N.E!
I still get a thrill remembering the moment the Hippie swine attacked the mob enforcer’s brass knuckles with their front teeth.
