Hockey is great in person. You lose something on the TV. I would like to see what it looks like with an 80" high resolution TV and the whole rink being shown rather than having the camera try to chase the action. Save the close-ups for replays.

make that little puck glow bright red

Didn't Fox try something with having the puck highlighted on TV? I remember special pucks with infrared transmitters along the edge so they could track it.

They not only highlighted the puck but had the computer place a "comet tail" on the thing. The tail became longer the faster the puck moved. It was really annoying and even more so during slap shots.

I remember that and here is some footage from that experiment. It was ridiculed at the time but I thought it had potential. Remember, this was over 20 years ago. I'm sure technology has improved to where it can be done not so "cartoonish."

My suggestion is to enlarge the puck and keep it a constant reddish or blueish color while saving the blue and red "streaks" for instant replays.

Anyway, I haven't watched hockey on TV in ages so maybe it looks better on the high res TVs.
