The Oxford college where Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi studied has taken her portrait down from public display. This follows international criticism over her role in her country’s humanitarian crisis.

St. Hugh’s College at England’s Oxford University said on Thursday that it had decided to remove the painting of the Nobel laureate from its main entrance, the UK daily The Guardian reported. Her portrait was replaced with a Japanese painting, St. Hugh’s College communications manager Benjamin Jones said.

“The college received the gift of a new painting earlier this month, which will be exhibited for a period. The painting of Aung San Suu Kyi has, meanwhile, been moved to storage,” St. Hugh’s said in a statement.

In a speech last week, the Nobel Prize winner condemned human rights abuses, but did not blame the army or address allegations of ethnic cleansing. …

Well in Burma, a Muslim group went after Buddhists. The Buddhists fought back and suddenly they are “ethnic cleansing”. Sound like something else the UN pulled, like in the 1990s?

The British lowered their Union Jack to half staff when the Saudi king died the other year.

We know that the United Kingdom has “new management”.

Its so bankrupt it needs the financial support of Muslim nations with oil wealth.

Slaughtered Hindus a testament to brutality of Myanmar’s conflict

YE BAW KYA, Myanmar (Reuters) - Myanmar authorities displayed on Wednesday the bodies of Hindu villagers they say were killed by Muslim insurgents, victims of a surge of violence in someone else’s fight now playing their part in a propaganda war.

Authorities found 45 Hindu villagers in mass graves in the north of Rakhine state this week, and the news has dominated Myanmar’s media coverage of a new round of violence in old strife between the state’s Buddhists and Muslims.

Daw Aung San Su Kyi’s husband , Michael Aris , was a professor and a fellow at Oxford for his entire adult life. They were married there. Their children were born there. for Oxford to now try and disassociate from her and from her late husband’s memory is absolutely despicable. But what else can you expect from modern day Britains?
