Just yesterday it was revealed that on October 1st, they will be out of gasoline and diesel because they won’t pay the shipping companies to haul their oil around to be refined and shipped back. Geez, what a resounding economic success!
It is truly sickening and utterly disheartening to consider that many, many millions of our own countrymen continue to take the ravings of this utter azzzhole seriously.

It was clear that Chavez was going to be trouble for Venezuela from early on. But, it isn’t clear in my memory exactly when things got really, really obviously and undeniably bad. By the time Chavez died and Maduro took over, the situation was desperate.
So, I looked up Maduro in Wikipedia, and it says he was inaugurated in April 2013, a month after Maduro’s death.
So, the author is a friggin’ idiot of the first order, since the outcome of Chavez’ policies was well known by 2013, at the time of writing.

What Huey did pull off was pretty amazing, but not in the way the author was gushing over. It's tough to take a first-world country to starvation in only 18 years in the absence of a shooting war, but he managed it.
