Agreed. Would be most interesting to learn what was in the “suicide note” that photos show was left in Paddock’s room...

Will we fight the war on terrorism harder if this was ISIS?

Hopefully.

Yeah, he shot through the door and wounded a security guard, they had to back off at that point and regroup. During that time he stopped shooting, possibly even shot himself at that point. If he wasn’t shooting, no need to risk officer safety. They were also waiting on the SWAT team.

So, the police arriving at the door 12 minutes after the shooting started effectively stopped the carnage. Good work by the police.

The timeline I've seen is as follows:

1. A police officer and security guard were on the scene within about 10 minutes.

2. There was gunfire from inside the room and the security guard was shot through the door.

3. There was apparently no gunfire from inside the room from this point on. All of the carnage outside was already done by this time.

4. The SWAT team arrived shortly after this. There was visible wiring from inside the room to the video camera the perp had rigged up on a food cart in the hall, so they treated the scene as if the room with the (now quiet) perp inside it was potentially booby-trapped.

5. The SWAT team conducted whatever surveillance was needed (probably using tiny video camera probes under the doors and through the walls), and they finally entered the room at the 72-minute mark.

There were 23 firearms including automatic weapons inside the Mandalay hotel

It's not illegal to own 23 firearms.
I haven't seen or heard anything to confirm the statement that he used an automatic weapon.
Reports I have seen indicate he used a Slide Fire type bump stock.

with explosives and several thousand rounds of ammo at Paddock’s house in Mesquite, Nevada.

I haven't heard any official statement that there were explosives at the house and it is not illegal to own ammo in large quantities.

Automatic weapons are banned.

No they aren't. You just need meet the stringent federal requirements to own one.

It will be very interesting to find out where this [automatic] weapon came from and how it was acquired.

What automatic weapon?

Did he modify them? He had no military experience. Where did he learn how to do that? Who trained him?

It's not Rocket Science.
You can buy a legal bump stock for $150 and almost anyone can follow the simple instructions on how to install and use it.

Who did he associate with?

Now you're talking!
If it was muslims the evidence will probably never see the light of day.

I’d be surprised if this guy was not a Muslim jihadist convert.

“...This can’t be, Our own FBI had conducted an audit of everything he owned within 24 hours and found nothing. They told us so!!!...”

Are we talking about the same “FBI” that’s been on the Russian investigation for almost a year? That FBI???? And they had an answer to this in less than 24 hours?? Riiiiight.

Debka is reporting the FBI & other sources knows that the guy went to the middle east and has photos of him over there so does that mean they were they watching him? If so, why?

ISIS names Las Vegas killer “Abu Abdul Bar Al-Amrekini”
Oct 3, 2017 @ 8:23
The Islamic State reinforced its earlier claim of responsibility for the atrocity with another communiqué Monday night, which named Stephen Paddock “Abu Abdul Bar Al-Amrekini” and said he had carried out surveillance of the concert arena opposite the hotel before murdering 58 people and injuring 515.

The first ISIS notice claimed that he had converted to Islam some months earlier. While an official US spokesman stressed there was no indication at this time of Paddock’s affiliation to any international terrorist organization, various Middle East sources said overnight Monday that he had been in contact with certain quarters in the region, and claimed the FBI had photos recording his visits. No specific country was named in these reports.

Can we be clear... He used a “bump fire mechanism” not a conversion to full auto. Highly inaccurate but firing on a crowd of 20,000 how accurate do you have to be? It’s also a parking lot, not a grass field that might absorb the bullets, ricochets can kill.

OKC was payback by Mcveigh to the Clinton Feds who murdered dozens of innocent U.S. Citizens. Why do you keep harping on it? Are you Lon Horiuchi’s girlfriend or something?

Rush has been all over the FBI for saying within 24 hours there was no connection between muslim terrorists and this murder. The FBI thinks Americans are stupid and we believe what they say now.

It was all business. Mostly medical instruments and biomedical telemetry stuff. You know, the tubes and things that go beep when you sick.

Nothing nefarious at all. And certainly not religious. They mostly thought it was an interesting place.

The guy had a camera set up on a tripod to film his rampage, it’s likely he made a statement.

But, the imperative is to blame the NRA. /sarc

The guy was an avid traveller who was fond of cruises and Dubai is a fairly cosmopolitan city, not a hotbed of terror. So for a fairly well travelled guy like him it could have just been a vacation destination. The answer is in the suicide not which the authorities arent revealing.

I would think with all of the asinine gun laws that these weapons and ammo have a trail to them. Obviously just from what I have seen and heard, a great portion are illegal. Something really stinks about this whole thing besides the carnage and horror.

“Bump fire” stocks, not “full auto”. Legal, common, easy to install & use.

While I’d not be surprised he converted, there’s nothing there he couldn’t have handled on his own.
