While the pro-abortion crowd celebrates the fall this week of Pennsylvania Rep. Tim Murphy, the rest of us got a useful reminder: Sleazy men make out pretty darn well, thanks to easy abortions.
Murphy’s political career came to an abrupt halt after the Pittsburgh Post Gazette caught him pressuring his mistress to have an abortion, even while he pretended to be pro-life. The pregnancy turned out to be a false alarm, but Murphy’s hypocrisy — and the end of his career — were real. After meeting with House Speaker Paul Ryan, he announced he wouldn’t seek re-election. It’s nice to know that there are still a few things politicians can’t get away with.
Yet before we drop this one in the file marked “feminist victories,” it is worth understanding another lesson. Abortion-rights activists often say efforts by politicians to restrict the procedure are simply a way of men exercising control over women’s bodies — keeping them barefoot and pregnant. And that abortion-on-demand really is the key to empowering and freeing women from the shackles of the patriarchy.
But the truth is that men benefit from the easy availability of abortion at least as much — if not more — than women.
Which is one reason the recently departed Hugh Hefner was such a big proponent. Playboy published its first article supporting the legalization of abortion in 1965 and even listed the numbers of hotlines where women could obtain them — even before Roe v. Wade. The audience for this information was clearly not women who were reading Playboy articles but men who had, as they used to say, gotten women in trouble.

If sleazy women would not open their legs for multiple men during high school and college, and as single adults, there would be no issue.
All of the Suffragettes were very much against abortion. It was seen as child murder for the benefit of men who didn’t want the responsibility of supporting the children they fathered. What bills itself today as the modern “feminist” movement which carries on the goals of the early women’s rights groups would be totally rejected by them.

Some men. Guys like me get repulsed with women who are not pure. Which means guys like me are losers with the sexual revolution. How many non sluts are out there? Very few. Ask the typical woman what makes you a slut? The answer will be something higher than her D count. But in reality, she’s probably a skank too. We have lowered the bar to what a good girl is, the ones that think they are, are essentially damaged goods.
I went abroad for a wife. It’s extreme, but I wasn’t gonna marry some used up woman who wanted the new car price.

What a fool this congressman was. Stupid beyond belief.
Didn’t he know by carrying on with this married woman it would expose him to her dirty divorce, provide ammo for her soon-to-be ex-husband, and run the risk of blackmail? And to leave evidence with your texts?
Was that woman worth it?
Weird.
You couldn’t find one American woman out of the millions out there that met your standards? Maybe you were looking for love in all the wrong places. And by your response it’s logical to assume you were as pure as your bride on your wedding night, too.

If they won’t the women will. I don’t take the blame shifting and guilt shaming anymore. Nothing says feminazi like blaming men for everything women do. I don’t believe in the perpetual victimhood of all women at the hands of all men.
I got divorced bc the first wife wasn’t happy anymore. Around age 40 I looked around. I thought I’d try the dating sites. I had 4 hard and fast rules. The woman wasn’t divorced herself to lower the odds of another failed marriage. She didn’t have any kids. She was Christian. And she wasn’t some libtard.
I had other preferences naturally, but I just filtered out the women for those 4 above. The pool of women between the ages of 32-37, which, iirc I was searching shrunk to almost nothing.
I realized then and there that halfway attractive or attractive women, unmarried, without kids and who were not themselves crazy in the head was a rare commodity. And thus they could get some guy that was better than me. I was broke/busted from a divorce and the last recession hurt my income. Most of the good women at that age are already married it would appear.
I’m not of the mindset to compete with a ton of other guys for these near unicorns. These women were not necessarily wonderful either. They just didn’t have a divorce, kids and weren’t demonstrably crazy by saying they were a Christian while voting for the baby killer party.
Some of my other preferences were normal weight, long hair, traditional gender role values, being soft and being kind.
Then I looked abroad and found hundreds of women who more or less fit what I wanted. So abroad I went. A bonus is that I am trying to do an end run around feminism. That’s TBD as only time can tell if the wife will become westernized.
Since you were divorced perhaps one of the reasons you couldn't find a woman who met your standards is that the women were also following your rules?

I’d have rather stayed single than got remarried to a divorcee or single mom. But yes, you are correct if you’re saying I was asking for a woman who had qualities I did not. I had both a divorce and children.
Those sound reasonable but most women don't wear their hair long very far into their 30s.
Murphy is probably like the guy in a movie long ago, I think Lady in the Red Dress. He pursues another guys wife and finally is ready to bed her down in a hotel room. The husband shows up and the guy ends up out on a narrow window ledge in bitter cold, buck naked. He thinks to himself out loud, I am going through this for a piece of a$$. Lot of truth in that one statement.
The common morality of that day in America was closer to a Christian one than the common morality now.
Having a common morality that good has advantages and setbacks. I believe any serious Christian would agree that as terrible as the death in physical wombs is, even more terrible is the second death. Had those children lived, how serious would Christendom be about presenting them with gospel? A sincere witness backed up by a life is not easy. Any way the devil can trip it up he will. It requires an utter faith that isn’t even daunted by stumbling but which increases its earnestness in the wake of a stumble.
I hate abortion. I hope it would stop. But where is our gospel music both literally and figuratively?

It becomes harder to make a case for honoring all lives when one simultaneously treats some with contempt.
The premise is false.
No father benefits from the murder of his baby daughter or baby son, whether between conception and birth, or subsequent to birth.
Also of note, fathers do not authorize abortions, mothers do.
