Flashback: Harvey Weinstein Defended Child Rapist Roman Polanski
Truth Revolt ^ | October 6, 2017 | Trey Sanchez

Posted on 10/11/2017 4:28:49 AM PDT by grundle

With the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against Miramax co-founder Harvey Weinstein floating about, we thought it might be of interest to remind TruthRevolt readers that the Hollywood mogul has strongly defended Roman Polanski, the film director who fled the country and never returned after raping a 13-year-old girl in 1977. Polanski ruined this girl’s life yet continued getting rich off of his films and has bathed in the praise of his Hollywood comrades for the last 40+ years.

But in 2009, Polanski found himself in a bit of trouble in Switzerland. He was arrested on his way to accept a lifetime achievement award (of all things) at the Zurich Film Festival. He was jailed for a short time and the United States bargained for his return so that he could serve the awaiting sentence for his crime. That request was ultimately denied by Swiss police and Polanski was eventually released.

And for that, you can thank Weinstein and his pals. A petition was started while Polanski was under house arrest in Switzerland for his immediate release and was signed by 130 Hollywood bigwigs, including Woody Allen. See what great company they keep?

Weinstein even penned an op-ed, pleading for the release of his friend, saying, “Polanski has served his time and must be freed.” The open letter was rife with flowing compliments of a man who lured a little girl into the bedroom. Weinstein acted as if it was no big deal:

Roman Polanski is a man who cares deeply about his art and its place in this world. What happened to him on his incredible path is filled with tragedy, and most men would have collapsed. Instead, he became a great artist and continues to make great films. I was with him the day he won the Legion of Honour in France, which was a spectacular day. I remember the incredible love and affection that people have for him…

Whatever you think about the so-called crime, Polanski has served his time…

It is a shocking way to treat such a man. Polanski went through the Holocaust and the murder of his wife, Sharon Tate, by the Manson family. How do you go from the Holocaust to the Manson family with any sort of dignity? In those circumstances, most people could not contribute to art and make the kind of beautiful movies he continues to make.

Weinstein also excused Polanski’s criminal behavior by alluding to “the Seventies era” when underage sex was apparently all the rage, especially in Tinsel Town. That is the same excuse he gave for his own sins of the past. In his letter released this week, Weinstein stated, “I came of age in the ‘60s and ‘70s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then. I have since learned it’s not an excuse, in the office — or out of it. To anyone.”

A creep then, a creep now.

In Weinstein’s view, sex by an older man with a 13-year old girl is a “so-called crime”?? Welcome to Hollywood, where the abnormal is considered perfectly normal and the normal is considered deplorable.

Wasn’t it Whoopie Goldberg, who, at the time, said,”Well, it wasn’t rape-rape!” Hollywood has long justified perverted behavior. Amongst themselves that is.

Time to re-examine the flight manifest records for Epstein’s plane.

what gives these slobs the idea that their need to touch someone outweighs the object of their desire’s right to a choice in the matter?

Makes as much sense as saying slavery wasn't slavery-slavery.

When is Hollywood going to go after Hillary like this? So far all we got on Weinstein is a tape of him trying to get a girl to come into his room, accusations of rape and sexual assault, which are as of now, mere accusations, yet we have overwhelming EVIDENCE of Hillary involved in multiple pay for play schemes - former Governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich is currently serving 14 years for merely CONSPIRING to commit a pay for play - we also have EVIDENCE of her violating the espionage act 110 times of which gross negligence is all that is required for a conviction, we also have EVIDENCE of aid money to Haiti missing through the Clinton foundation, yet the other night on the Jimmy Fallon show they had these Hollywood nitwits praising Hillary while they cried as if Hillary was the messiah of all humanity.

Wonder how many of them advised Barack Obama to ultimately drop the matter.

Lindsay is supporting Harvey all the way... “I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now,” she said in the Instagram story, taken from her home in Dubai. “I don’t think it’s right what’s going on.”

Lohan also said that Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman, who intends on filing for divorce, needs to “take a stand and be there for her husband.

Smoke another one Lindsay, or at least do another line of coke.

Dubai? Isn't adultry punishable by death down there? And if you rape someone, they are most likely going to chop off your head.

can some liberal lurker please explain to me how what this guy did (except for the charges of rape) is any different than what Bill Clinton did?

Clinton was hitting on any woman that came within reach of him... JUST LIKE THIS GUY! how are they different?

The fact this Weinstein thing came to light now is a joke. No doubt the Hollywood elites knew of this a long time ago but their liberal minds were okay with it because of his money, power, and fame.

Well, “Defended rapist Roman Polanski” describes most of Hollyweird. There is nothing really special about Weinstein defending him.
Goes to show, though that Hollyweird is not complicit in this stuff - they are accessories to the crimes.

We haven’t heard how much of the rapist’s money will be returned by Hillary and the Obamas. The DNC is returning about 10%. Of course, they’ll be giving it to such noble causes as Planned Parenthood, dedicated to killing babies, over half of them girls. Such evil people are a stain on our nation.

a man who lured a little girl into the bedroom

Even this is sugar-coating the reality of the event. He filled a 13 year old girl with wine and quaaludes, then proceeded to orally, vaginally, and anally rape her repeatedly.

And for this, Hollywood rallied around him and defended his "art".
