The sun has set on the British Empire.
Hard to believe such a weak people ever dominated the world.
Those gun control measures sure are doing a bang up job, pun intended!
Non possible because guns.
“Some day a [Christian] king will come, and the sword will rise again.”
Than NYC? How ‘bout Chicago? Which crossed the 500th death this year from shootings last week.
Crime is up 13%. Muslim immigration is up a little more.
London’s mayor has said violence is the new norm and they better get used to it.
Ah, but those raped and robbed must feel really good they were threatened with a knife instead of a gun. sarc/
this can’t be ... no guns !
wow ... could liberals be wrong?
naa....
that’s crazy talk!
lol
Add in hundreds of acid attacks where acid is thrown in someone’s face.
The Mayor of London regards this as a badge of honor, you can be sure of that.
The Iron Lady must be spinning in her grave at what’s happened to England.
Hire leftists, get more violence.
I seem to recall that London had crossed the line with NYC in overall crime stats several years ago, post-Giuliani.
Article: “While both London and New York have populations of around 8 million, figures suggest you are almost six times more likely to be burgled in the British capital than in the US city, and one and a half times more likely to fall victim to a robbery.”
So the gap seems to be widening.
Well, NYC is this country’s safest large city. This year the city is on pace for record low homicides and they are about 1/10th the pace seen in the 1990s. They are also on pace for record low crime over all.
I’m very surprised to see that article! Truth from The Telegraph in the UK (*not* the Daily Mail! Now, maybe some problems can be solved in each of our countries.
Several posters seeking to link this with gun control and Islam, but the dates don’t correlate. This is a very recent increase in violent crime, particularly in London (less so elsewhere in the country). But there’s been no change in gun legislation since 1997, while the main influx of Muslims to the UK happened in during the mid 50s to mid 70s. It’s continued since, but much more slowly. During much of the intervening period violent crime actually decreased.
A much more plausible correlation is with the changed policing priorities described in the article (over which, by the way, the Mayor of London has relatively little control).
