Obama ambassador's testimony on intelligence unmasking raises new questions
Fox News ^ | 10/20/17 | Claudia Rosett

Congressional testimony by President Barack Obama’s former ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, about the “unmasking” of U.S. citizens’ names she requested in hundreds of foreign intelligence intercepts by the National Security Agency, has raised new questions about how the sensitive information was ordered up, and subsequently handled.

Power spoke to the House Intelligence Committee on Oct. 13 behind closed doors, and what she said is still cloaked in secrecy. But on Oct. 17, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, who also sits on the Intelligence Committee, told Fox News: “Her testimony is they [the unmasking requests] may be under my name, but I did not make those requests.” Gowdy said little else about the session.

The sheer volume of such requests submitted to U.S. intelligence authorities in her name was already unusual. But if she did not initiate them, then who did, and why? Was the resulting information delivered to Power, as the normal protocols of handling such constitutionally-protected information require? Was she even aware of the gush of highly sensitive and secret information solicited under her name?

I know Trump needs to purge the federal government of liberal operatives before he can move forward. I wish he’d hurry it up.

What one gets out of this mess is that they merely created a door-keeper function, which should have been a full-time job for someone, with a staff to evaluate requests. In her case, it doesn’t seem like she ever refused a single request. She just stamped it and moved on.

“Her testimony is they [the unmasking requests] may be under my name, but I did not make those requests.”

Let's hope that was not the end of her testimony.

Hopefully, the next question to her was "Who made those requests, if not you, and you're just following orders?".

If she was willing to answer the first question, then she had to answer the next and all following questions.

What she said is as apt to be true as not. Somebody wanted it done and somebody else’s name needed to be attached? Labs and dachsunds have different names and looks. They are all dogs.

If her name is on the requests, she made them until she can prove otherwise. Put her in jail until the “real” unmasker can be found. Maybe they can get OJ on the case.

Trey Gowdy, true to form, gives another Obamanation a pass. He's a prosecutor for god's sake......but apparently never heard of evidence. This guy pisses me off.

======================================

Samantha better fess up---she's left an enormous evidentiary paper trail.

REALITY CHECK---UN Ambassadors have little or no need for intelligence reports to do their job...... but Obama's hand-picked UN Amb, Samantha Power, to succeed Susan Rice, had an abnormally ravenous appetite for spying, especially when it came to unmasking Reoublicans.

To request, via the FISA court, the unmasking of an American is supposed to be done only in exceptional circumstances, given the potential for Stasi-like abuse of power implicating an innocent person. Yet, reports show Power made it her daily preoccupation..... even as she was doing the Ambassador job at the UN.

According to Fox News, Power was 'unmasking' at such a rapid pace in the final months of the Obama administration, that she averaged more than one request for every working day in 2016 – and even sought information in the days leading up to President Trump’s inauguration, multiple sources close to the matter told Fox News.

=======================================

Keep in mind that the Obama syndicate incessantly going to the FISA trough could prove very instructive. B/c not only is it a no-no to LIE to a FISA court.....it is a felony to WITHHOLD info from the FISA court.

<><>Did Power's request for a FISA warrant stipulate that Obama and Susan Rice wire-tapped Trump Tower......while Trump was a candidate?

<><> Did Power's request for a FISA warrant stipulate that Obama's CIA director Brennan used phony foreign intel as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into candidate Trump?

<><> Did the request for a FISA warrant stipulate that phony foreign intel led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to candidate Trump residing and conducting business in Trump Tower?

<><> Did the request for a FISA warrant stipulate that foreign intel gave cover to Susan Rice's sifting/unmasking operations?

I didn't think so.

"Shoo-in" Hillary lost, then Obama's paranoia took over. Trump would hold all the secrets of Obama's dirty presidency.

The heinous "legacy" of the Obama presidency is writ large.....so much damage inflicted in the little time the citizenry allotted him.

Obama and his Democrat fellators, ValJar, Susan Rice, Samantha Power, and the rest of the knee-padders, turned every federal agency into a political weapon: the FBI, the IRS, NSA, CIA, the UN, even the FISA court.

Obama and his factotums weaponized and corrupted everything for their insatiable thirst for power, for their despicable "progressive" ideology, their obsession w/ a permanent Democrat majority, and for their twisted political ambitions.

People need to start getting executed. Now.

Powers is a delusional leftist married to a hardcore Marxist “thinker” Cass Sunstein.

Make her an offer she cannot refuse. Talk or suffer Contempt of Congress and jail time, a total loss of any security clearance, and put on the “non-employment” list of undesirables for the federal govt.

Let her go down in flames and ignomy.

Hearings and posturing are great, but will there be prosecutions? I don't think that the career politicians want justice to be done, because they know they bend the limits of legalities and if insiders start to get sent to jail no one is safe anymore.

.

Well, Samantha denies making the requests.

Looks like the investigation is back to the meaning of "is" with her,"I did not make those requests."

It must have been the ambassadorial equivalent of spontaneous combustion.

So many question, so many leads, and, alas, so little prosecution.

Amen.

Questions:

1. Why didn’t she say this in the first place? Was it because it has taken the libs this long to come up with this new stalling tactic? If I had been accused of something like this that I knew I hadn’t done, I’d have been out in front of the TV cameras saying so right from the start. So why didn’t she?

2. Does she know who did? Does she suspect who did? Who is she protecting and why?

If I were in the Trump administration, I would put everyone on notice that they had 1 week to come clean about what they know or be complicit in the coverup. This business of having to drag everyone in front of some congressional committee to pry information out of them is nonsense. The fact that these people have to be forced to testify indicates that they are part and parcel of the traitorous conspiracy.
