George H.W. Bush apologized to actress Heather Lind after she claimed in a since-deleted Instagram post that he sexually assaulted her at an event in 2014.
Presidential First Children Through the Years “President Bush would never — under any circumstance — intentionally cause anyone distress, and he most sincerely apologizes if his attempt at humor offended Ms. Lind,” the former president’s spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement to Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 25.
Lind, 34, alleged on Instagram on Tuesday, October 24, that Bush, 93, “sexually assaulted” her during a photo op at a private screening of her AMC series Turn: Washington’s Spies in Houston in 2014. “He didn’t shake my hand. He touched me from behind from his wheelchair with his wife Barbara Bush by his side,” she claimed in the caption of her post. “He told me a dirty joke. And then, all the while being photographed, touched me again. Barbara rolled her eyes as if to say ‘not again.’ His security guard told me that I shouldn’t have stood next to him for the photo.”

It seems to me a President’s power is in his or her capacity to enact positive change, actually help people, and serve as a symbol of our democracy. He relinquished that power when he used it against me. … What comforts me is that I too can use my power, which isn’t so different from a President really. I can enact positive change. I can actually help people. I can be a symbol of my democracy. I can refuse to call him President, and call out other abuses of power when I see them. I can vote for a President, in part, by the nature of his or her character, knowing that his or her political decisions must necessarily stem from that character.”
Lind concluded her post by explaining that she turned to her costars and producers for support after the alleged encounter, adding, “I do not respect [Bush].”
The accusation came after a number of women, including A-listers Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, came forward with sexual harassment and assault claims against Harvey Weinstein. The 65-year-old producer’s spokesperson previously told Us that he denies “any allegations of non-consensual sex.”

If I were in public life I would simply nod to these tarts when introduced to them and act as cold as I could towards them.
Anything a man says or does, or doesn’t say or doesn’t do, is subject to being called “sexual assault.” As every college grad knows, all males are toxic, and the patriarchy is evil.
Now I don’t ahve much use for the bush family, but a sexual assault by a 91 year old in a wheel chair?

Well, that is not an apology.
He knows he offended her or he wouldn’t even be feigning an apology. A real apology wouldn’t pretend to not know she’s offended and would state it:
“...for offending Ms. Lind.”
I mentioned before that while it was fun to watch the Left in Hollywood eat itself, the whole mess was quickly descending a slippery slope.
Now a senile old man in a wheelchair brushing his hand against a chick’s backside is sexual assault.

Why is it hard to believe GHW might be overly touchy in his dotage.

I despise the Bush crime family as much as the Clinton crime family, but 41 probably has some level of dementia at this point and can be excused for such a trivial matter.

If he did it, he did it. I’m not sure why I should disbelieve her. Maybe some of the people responding on this page can tell me why I should disbelieve her.
Simply touching someone on the butt or breast in a manner that is unwanted is sexual assault.
I’m not going to waste a single second of my time defending the likes of George H.W. Bush.
If this happened, then she should report it to police and let him explain his actions to them.
And do I believe it’s possible for a 93 year old man in a wheel chair former president member of the Ruling Class to do this and think it’s okay? Yes.
if it was done in front of wife I doubt it was attempted rape.
