That is the heart of the matter. People have to right to determine their own form of government and if they are willing to fight, kill and die for what they believe they may actually get to rule themselves as they see fit. No matter how you slice it though, it's none of our damn business.

I’ve heard it said that the pro-independence parties actually supported the presence of the migrants for two reasons, basically-one the hope that in return, they’d vote for those parties, and two that they’d be wiling to learn Catalan instead of Spanish. you may be seeing what you want here, assuming that it’ll be like Brexit.

This separation movement is about the migrants changing their culture and their taxes going up to pay for the migrant.

The E.U. And Spain both want the migration. Catalan does not.

For the record, Catalan is not alone. Austria has a problem with it and so does the Check Republic. Countries like Poland and Hungary will not even allow it.

The E.U. are the bad guys here. They want to flood Europe with migrants that do not want to assimilate. Moreover, the migrants do not want to work, collect welfare and lecture everyone in Europe on how their culture should change. This is even though they fled their countries where this culture failed the people.

Catalan independence is not a new phenomenon. Decades back, there were Communist terrorist groups wanting an independent Communist Catalonia-google Terra Liure, for example.

I’m just saying what I heard elsewhere here. Anyways, it’s possible that the pro-independence parties may have thought that they’d be able to come to use the migrant to their advantage. Not the first time someone thought that they’d be able to use the Muzzies.

40% of all the taxes collected for Spain come from Catalan. They are tired of being told to pay even more taxes for the Migrants who will not even assimilate and go on welfare How is that arrogant?

Northern vs. Southern Italy could well be the next rift in Europe. The north looks at the south like America views Mexico. Northern Italy has the banks and the engineering/industry. The south? Not so much.
