n this weekend’s broadcast of on “Fox News Sunday,” Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) said the “bulk” of the Republican party was pro-immigration and not moving towards nationalism.

Kasich said, “I think the bulk of the Republican Party — and I’ve been in the party since I was a college student — it’s one that believes in the fact that America has a place in the world, Reagan talked about it, it advances humanity. I agree. I think the bulk of the Republican Party does believe that immigration provides energy to our country.”

Kasich is out of touch with reality. That’s why he went down in flames and why he must stay in retirement.

Well Kasich is a fool and an outlier.

He performed very poorly in the GOP presidential primaries and came in last.

Meanwhile, he is still in office as Ohio Governor and has totally neglected all duties as such. Although, he is a fraud and a fool, he is a media darling because he is a chronic Trump basher.

He has no clue what it means to be a Republican or American.

I think the bulk of the Republican Party does believe that immigration provides energy to our country.

It's not just the Democrats who insist on calling illegal entry by foreigners "immigration", it's also the milksop wing of the Republican Party. "Immigration" describes the lawful entry of foreigners who have followed US law in coming to this country. People who come here and stay here illegally are not immigrants - they are criminals.

I can’t remember a dumber Presidential candidate since Michael Dukakis. Or maybe Jeb.

The idiot doesn't seem to distinguish between legal and illegal immigration, nor does he consider the 1964 shift away from favoring European immigration to favoring Latin American immigration.

The bulk of the GOP *is* pro-immigration. What Kasich chooses not to understand is the difference between immigration and invasion.

Legal, hard working educated immigrants that respect our culture and mostly assimilate - 100%. Illegal immigrants that just want to live on the dole, run drugs/guns, or remit 100% of their income back to Mexico - no.

I agree that immigration can be a good thing if it’s handled in a way that really does strengthen the country. What we have now is not that.

Hope you don't mind the small edit to your dead-on comment:

"Illegal immigrants that just want to live on the dole, run drugs/guns, or remit 100% of their off-the-books income back to Mexico - no."

Son of Mailman: “I think the bulk of the Republican Party does believe that immigration provides energy to our country.”

O.K., knucklehead, by “energy” do your mean the $116 billion cost to taxpayers each year just for illegals (not counting the swarms of legal immigrants)? (https://fairus.org/issue/publications-resources/fiscal-burden-illegal-immigration-united-states-taxpayers) Do you mean the large numbers of Americans who are killed by immigrant drunk drivers or are otherwise victims to immigrant crime?

I don’t doubt that a majority of Republican elected officials are open-borders types but that does not mean that the majority of people who vote for such idiots are on board with giving away their country.

“Son of Mailman”

His father was a mailman. He keeps reminding us because he (John Kasich) is a nothing.

Kasich, you arrogant a-hole. We are pro-immigration, but are not pro-illegal immigration.

We are pro-immigration, but we are not pro-terrorist importation.

We are pro-immigration, but we are not pro-cheap labor H-1B wage suppression.
