DALLAS -- Mark Cuban says he believes Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green "owes the NBA an apology" for criticizing the use of the term "owner" in sports.

Green made the statement last week as part of an Instagram post reacting to Houston Texans owner Bob McNair's controversial comment that the NFL "can't have inmates running the prison."

"To be owned by someone just sets a bad precedent to start. It sets the wrong tone. It gives one the wrong mindset."

The NBA is a business. The owners own a business, not the people who work for it. Green is an idiot.

Well, I guess the “players” are always free to go back to the city park and participate in a pick-up game.

The “players” could organize a cooperative and play in a commune.

Most of these players are monumentally ignorant, you can’t expect anything sensible out of them.

It’s tough for me to get too upset for him. His support for Hillary helped enable this mindset.

“In 2009, Sports Illustrated did a study of former NFL and NBA players.

This is what the study showed:

After only 2 years of retirement, 78 percent of NFL players were either broke or struggling financially.

Within 5 years of retirement, 60 percent of NBA players are broke.”

Like it takes a rocket scientist to run back and forth on a wooden floor while bouncing an orange ball trying to put it through a hoop 12 ft in the air. Athletic ability, yes. Smarts, not so much.

They aren’t even smart enough to hire competent professionals to keep tabs on where all their money is going.

Most athletes are basically one dimensional people who are good at doing only one thing.

The phrase "We can't let the prisoners run the prison" is older than anyone alive. It is a management vs employee saying and has never implied ownership of anyone(unless once used on the plantations that had slaves). If you owned a large business, would you let a few selected employees help you run your company, or let everyone do what they want all the time? If they can give themselves a raise, they will. Pro sports run from the bottom up won't work. Cuban is an idiot.

I stand corrected. Shows how long it’s been since I had any interest in the NBA.

You would get smarter comments at a homeless shelter before an NFL or NBA roster.

Cuban’s remark is even dumber than Green’s.

The one I use all the time is letting the inmates run the asylum. Same meaning.
