'Abe, Trump to Discuss Evacuation Plan for their Citizens in S. Korea'

Write : 2017-11-05 12:13:20 Update : 2017-11-05 13:19:00

United States President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will reportedly discuss how to evacuate their citizens in South Korea in the event of a war on the Korean Peninsula.

Japan's Yomiuri Shimbun daily reported on Sunday that the two leaders will discuss the matter during their summit talks on Monday in Tokyo.

The paper said that Trump is not excluding military options against North Korea, noting that roughly 60-thousand Japanese citizens and more than 200-thousand Americans currently reside in South Korea.

In case of airport closure in South Korea, Japan's current evacuation plan is to urge Japanese citizens to move to a safe place in the South before evacuating them to Japan.

In the Monday summit, Abe will seek Trump's support for Japan's hope in which U.S. forces stationed in South Korea will transport Japanese citizens for the evacuation.

Abe, Trump make a show of close ties with golf diplomacy

Informal setting contrasts with the seriousness of North Korea and trade issues

Oh man I love that they were having burgers and there was a bottle of ketchup and mustard staged on the table.

Zoomed in and there are fries. ;-)

Tomato and lettuce visible on Abe’s burger.

Assume they were drinking Coke.

Classic Americana. Abe and DJT both kick ass.

I believe this is as much for North Korea’s ears as their own people’s ear.

The meeting is saying a couple of things such as there is no rift between America and Japan, it is also saying that they are taking the possibility of renewed warfare serious.

In other words, Trump is showing his cards and is calling Rocket man’s bluff. The same bluff he has used to get billions of dollars in the past.

The talk of evacuation is actually significant because it signals that the threat of military action is not an empty posturing. He is repeatedly sending messages to N. Korea, China, and even Russia, driving home the point that things will be different this time.

I have regarded the talk of evacuation as an important marker to tell if the commitment to military action is for real.

If any North Koreans saw that they would riot, all they get is soy jerky sticks.

The amount of Viagra an 18 year old would have to take for that troop would make it explode. Keep me on speed dial for WHEN this happens. I am willing to sacrifice and help you out. I am even willing to take a minority stake. 3 for you and 2 for me.

I highly doubt that these plans would rise to the chief executive level. The details have been worked out much lower down, and Japan’s plan for evacuating her citizens is totally separate from the U.S. plans for evacuating hers. This is probably meant to create tensions in South Korea ahead of Trump’s visit.

The above report says that Japan needs help to evacuate their citizens, because S. Korea would not want Japanese military to show up in its territory. So they may have to rely on U.S. ships to do it. At some point, it would have to be cleared on the top level.

It would be true that Trump and Abe did not spend their time working on evac plan details. I doubt that the message is just for S. Korea, though.

Statesmen having serious adult conventions, unlike Obama diplomacy where his own ‘greatness’ overshadowed everything.

What?? Don’t all world leaders discuss war plans over burgers?

Love the image being sent. Lil’ Kim Fatty III - still the ignored loser kid on the block. Trump diplomacy - bringing back the alpha male.

Bonus points - is there anything more American than burgers (Heinz products - in your eye, John F’ing) and a coke!

The burger lunch visual is perfect, although liberals would hate it.

Heinz ketchup, huh. Made by little brown children?

Abe will seek Trump's support for Japan's hope in which U.S. forces stationed in South Korea will transport Japanese citizens for the evacuation.

Hmm, how about Japan stepping up instead of relying on the US all the time?
