Bush 41 calls Trump a 'blowhard'; White House strikes back [Remember David Souter?]

(CNN)The White House has struck back at both Bush presidents Saturday after the two made stinging comments about President Donald Trump in a new book about the father and son.

"If one presidential candidate can disassemble a political party, it speaks volumes about how strong a legacy its past two presidents really had," a White House official told CNN. "And that begins with the Iraq war, one of the greatest foreign policy mistakes in American history."

"President Trump remains focused on keeping his promises to the American people by bringing back jobs, promoting an 'America First' foreign policy and standing up for the forgotten men and women of our great county," the official said.

Former President George H.W. Bush delivered a blunt assessment of Trump in historian Mark Updegrove's new book, titled "The Last Republicans," saying, "He's a blowhard." And former President George W. Bush also had harsh words for his Republican successor: "This guy doesn't know what it means to be president."

I do believe that we are seeing mental aging here in George H W Bush BUT equally we are seeing how an 'aristocrat' makes decisions based upon personal reasons. I bring this post to the fore to add a domestic perception to the ERROR espoused by this former President. His nomination and the confirmation of Justice David Souter showed how flawed his decision could be, relying upon a cadre of New England friends to assure him of the man's conservative credentials.

In that light, we must remember that to vote FOR HILLARY is the same as voting for a probable permanent LEFT tilt to the US Supreme Court for the next generation. That alone, should have led him to emulate his son, George W Bush, in, at the very least concept of doing no harm, to leave the Presidential vote BLANK!

George W Bush’s legacy is Hussein Obama and a predatory democrat supermajority in Congress.

The respect that I once had for the Bush family started to seriously fade with “an act of love”.In recent weeks it's plummeted to the point where it's pretty much invisible.

It should be temembered that the policies and practices of Bush, the younger are what led America into 8 disastrous years of the Obama era with its spineless, bowing and scraping to foreign interests at the expense of the American people.

Between Reagan and Trump we have had nothing but weak, globalist garbage as US President.

You presume that the Bushes were in any way “conservative”. They are Tories, which means they are in favor of whatever protects the establishment. Some of us we’re never fooled by 43’s (alleged) Christian faith - and I say that as an evangelical. You shall know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:15-22), by their friends, and by whom they choose to surround themselves with in business or politics.

I think the real problem was that Bush wasn’t conservative.

The Bushes are war-mongering, big-government globalists. So is Hillary Clinton. That’s why the Bushes despise Trump. It’s really that simple.

Back in 1979, GHW Bush tried to take over the GOP primary by excluding those he didn’t want at an early debate. Ronald Reagan didn’t much care for that and tore into him and buddies at the debate like a father dressing down his son for being a jerk. After that, I never liked GHWB. Voting for him left me feeling like I did when I voted for McCain 9 years ago...wishing it was someone or anyone else.

Under W’s watch there was the Ramos and Compeon incident:

2 Border Patrol Agents face 20 Years in Prison

Snips:

When Border Patrol Agent Ignacio Ramos pulled the trigger last February, all he knew was that his partner was lying on the ground behind him – bloodied from a struggle with a fleeing suspect – shots had been fired and now, it appeared, the drug smuggler he was pursuing had turned toward him with what looked to be a gun in his hand. In the split-second he had to respond, Ramos determined the course of his and his partner’s lives – federal prison for the next 20 years for assault with serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, discharging of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, violating civil rights and obstruction of justice.

—————

Further, Kanof argued, it was a violation of Border Patrol policy for agents to pursue fleeing suspects.

“Agents are not allowed to pursue. In order to exceed the speed limit, you have to get supervisor approval, and they did not,” she told the Daily Bulletin.

Damn good point about Souter. It was interesting that 9 Democrats voted against him (back when voting against judges, even for Democrats, was something both parties tried to avoid). They were afraid that he would be another Scalia. I think it was the great Bush friend John Sununu, who was an earlier version of Chris Christie, who secretly told Bush Sr. that Souter was a hard-core conservative, but never wanted to show it until he was on the Supreme Court. Just SICKENING.
