He did so when NBC News Ali Vitali asked if he would support more gun control for would-be gun purchasers. She said, Youve talked about wanting to put extreme vetting on people trying to come into the United States, but I wondered if youd consider extreme vetting for people trying to buy a gun?

TRUMP: Trying to what?
REPORTER: Buy a gun.
TRUMP: Well, you're bringing up a situation that probably shouldn't be discussed too much right now. We could let a little time go by, but it's okay. If you feel that that's an appropriate question, even though we're in the heart of South Korea, I will certainly answer your question.
If you did what you're suggesting, there would have been no difference three days ago, and you might not have had that very brave person who happened to have a gun or a rifle in his truck go out and shoot him, and hit him and neutralize him. And I can only say this: If he didn't have a gun, instead of having 26 dead, you would have had hundreds more dead. So that's the way I feel about it. Not going to help.
REPORTER: And are you considering any kind of gun control policy going forward because --
TRUMP: I mean, you look at the city with the strongest gun laws in our nation, is Chicago, and Chicago is a disaster. It's a total disaster. Just remember, if this man didn't have a gun or rifle, you'd be talking about a much worse situation in the great state of Texas. Thank you.
See for yourself; poetry in motion:
He forgot to tell her she was fired.
I love her *smirk* when she spewed her *gotcha* question.
*45* done good. Real good.
God Bless and keep this unique man. God Bless AMERICA.
Hey look at all that red carpet China put out for our President.
Man, there must be world wide shortage of it now.
yes. well. I never heard NBC reporters asking about extreme vetting when Anthony Bell or Emanuel Kidega Samson shot up churches.
You betcha. Reporter is so brain dead she doesn’t even know her @ss was just handed to her.
Nice to see *45* use a bit of low key @sswhoopin’. :)
God Bless and keep this unique man.
Amen! Go, Trump! MAGA
Trump should’ve answered with the question with one of his own.
Trump: Well, if we’re going to do extreme vetting for people purchasing guns, shouldn’t we be doing the same for people purchasing trucks or suvs or cars?
What? And make her think? Now you’re in uncharted territory.
I like it when you take an radical alt-left moron by the hand, and lead them down the path to truth.
Or people voting
She's got the bat$hit crazy eyes of a sophomore college student.
What a f'ing stupid question.
600 people dead in Chicago to date in 2017, with ultra-strict gun control.
I'd love to ask this cretin "reporter" how that is possible.
The only visit to the Forbidden City by a foreign leader in the 68 years the PRC has existed. In contrast the Chinese made Obama get out the butt of AF1.
I will bet you a box of donuts, she practiced this *gotcha* question 1000 times in front of a mirror.
She can put this one on her *reporter* resume.
Or posing as journalists?
Except that time Nixon went there.
This is why they cancelled his stop to the DMZ.
Precisely. 40K people are killed in motor vehicle accidents per year. And vast majority of these accidents are unintentional. Whereas gun accidents are fairly rare. What we need isn't gun control - it's criminal control. We need tougher sentences, more judges, more prisons and a rapid appeals process that executes or releases Death Row inmates in 5 years.
“Maybe we should have extreme vetting of questions shot out there by reporters to see which ones are worthy to answer. By the way, that is not one.”
