I think that should go more like, the people of this country should expel all sitting U.S. Senators by voting them out.
Or, exposing all their crimes and having them prosecuted in courts of law.
So, the primary doesn’t count and now the general won’t count.

That is the best approach IF he is guilty the governor could then appoint a republican.
