This piece is similar to what Media Matters does. Grab a line and react. Rush further down in the discussion comes close to the author’s idea that it’s the whole swamp not just Bannon v. McConnell - perhaps that’s where he got it and thought no one else would read further.
Rush:
“So youve got McConnell responding to Bannon. Theres no question thats a lot of what this is. ***But youve also got the swamp.*** Nobody in either party wanting this guy anywhere near Washington, DC. And it doesnt matter what the voters want. It doesnt matter. Just on the basis of allegations, it doesnt matter, because there isnt a conviction, there isnt without-a-doubt proof or any of that. Its just that they dont want this guy anywhere near there. And thats what theyre gonna make happen.
This is a microcosm of what theyre trying to do to Trump. Theyre essentially trying to say Trump is not fit, Trump is not worthy, Trump is not justified. Theres a coup thats been underway to essentially disregard the duly constituted presidential election of 2016.”

There has been one indeed. And Alabama has proven that McConnell and his henchmen are in support of and part of that coup/resistance. The whole swamp views Trump (and Judge Moore as an avatar) as an existential threat to their rule.
