WASHINGTON Maryland State Police want the publics help bringing to justice a pickup truck driver who stabbed a man this week on MD 200 the Intercounty Connector.
The victim was a passenger in a white Chevy Silverado which was heading eastbound on the ICC, Wednesday afternoon, around 3:30. The incident began with a dispute between the drivers of the Silverado and a gray Ford pickup.
The suspect then drove his gray truck on the shoulder to get around the white truck, according to police. On the ramp to northbound Interstate 95, as the Ford truck blocked the path of the Chevy truck, the aggression turned violent.
The suspect exited his vehicle, opened up the passenger side of the Chevy Silverado and stabbed the passenger in the leg, with a knife, said Elana Russo, spokesperson for Maryland State Police.
The man then jumped back into his truck and sped northbound on I-95. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released.
Police described the suspect as a 6-foot-tall African American man, weighing 225 pounds and wearing a dark-colored T-shirt. His gray Ford pickup truck has an extended four-door cab.
Police say aggressive driving is not uncommon on roads and highways in the D.C. area.
We see a lot of aggressive driving behavior and a lot of it contributes to crashes, said Russo, who also says its unusual when road rage leads to violent confrontations.
She recommends patience at the wheel and never getting involved with another driver who is raging at the wheel.
Police will tell you not to engage anybody who is driving aggressively, stay out of their way and continue to drive safe and defensively, call 911, if you can get a tag number and report that, Russo said.

Police: Prince Georges Co. man arrested in stabbing on ICC
WASHINGTON A Laurel, Maryland, man has been arrested Monday in connection to a stabbing last week on the Intercounty Connector, police said.
The stabbing happened Oct. 18 during rush hour traffic on the ramp from the ICC (Maryland Route 200) to northbound Interstate 95, Maryland State Police said. The victim was a passenger in a Chevy Silverado, traveling home from work with a co-worker who was driving. Their truck moved to block the path of a Ford pickup truck that was starting to pass stopped traffic on the right shoulder, according to state police.
The driver of the Ford, 49-year-old Ronald Paul, got out of his truck to confront those in the Chevy, state police said. Paul demanded the victim, who was sitting in the passenger seat with the window down, get out of the vehicle. When the victim refused, Paul opened the door and attempted to grab the victim. The victim tried to defend himself, turning his legs toward Paul, who then stabbed the victim in the leg with a knife.
The driver called police, and Paul reportedly spit toward the driver before leaving. The victim was later taken to a hospital by ambulance. He is a man from Reisterstown, Maryland, but is not being identified at this time, state police said.
The victim and driver were able to get a part of Pauls Maryland license plate and a description of him and his vehicle. Paul was arrested 7:30 p.m. Monday at a residence, state police said.
He is facing multiple charges, including attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and other charges. Paul is currently being held without bond.
It’s advised to lock your doors when you travel.
Ron Paul’s done something stupid again?
I wonder if he deliberately unlocked.
I find it hard to believe it wasn’t automatically locked having been in gear. Almost no cars exist that don’t do so since 2000 or more.
Perp should get the death penalty. That’s a bit extreme for a non-fatal stabbing, but he was trying to cheat by pasding on the shoulder and then cutting in. No mercy.
Are there witnesses? Or did he get stabbed in another situation? It doesn’t make sense that the opens the passenger door, stabs the driver “in the leg” then drives away. If there were witnesses then I’m wrong, wrong, wrong.
There is a witness if the story is right that there were “occupantS” of the victim’s car; supposedly 2.
I wholly agree with the death penalty for this.
My truck allows me to disable the anti lock feature, which I’ve done.
>>I wholly agree with the death penalty for this.<<
Too bad the victim wasn’t able to administer the death penalty at the scene of the attack.
