I love when he says to her....*Stop interrupting me*.

There's trouble in paradise!

I don't think Joe's going to be getting any sugar at home for a while!

Mika better cool her jets before she accidentally falls and fatally hits her head on a desk.

...but a locking device that trapped someone in the office would seem to be a clear violation of even a half-assed building code.

I'm quite certain that the building code violation was not even a consideration. The purpose of the device was to support predation - I have no doubt that it was against code never even entered their minds.

The point is that Matt Lauer didn’t install it himself. Someone else had to do that, and that contractor or building custodian would likely know about things like a building code that Lauer and his enablers didn’t care about.

And if the installer had objected, they would have been fired, and the next person instructed to do the job.

I do not disagree with your point, but in rarefied atmospheres like “30 Rock”, rules are for other people - almost no matter the rule.

It’s just hard not to see where this is all going.

The good news is their suite of attack dogs will be seriously depleted.

Lauer should be nailed for kidnapping....b/c he locked the door ......keeping the woman captive.

The lock wasn't to keep the women in. It was to keep anyone from walking in unannounced.

“a locking device that trapped someone in the office would seem to be a clear violation of even a half-assed building code”

Well, if you were modifying your office to be your own private sexual assault lair, you probably wouldn’t be too concerned with complying with the building codes.

A CC license would have made the lock particulars much less important.

Lauer cunningly used the lock tech to keep the woman captive.

Yes it would, wouldn’t it, which is why the codes require that access controls be installed and maintained by licensed personnel, with records kept...

Whomever helped him out with it is on some deep doodoo. We know he’s not smart enough to do that himself.

NBC is one of Rockefeller Center’s biggest and oldest tenants. NBC has its own facilities management department that handles all the internal work. That mgr/director co-ordinates with Rock Centers counterpart. In any case electrical security locks are as common as NYC ‘s homeless. The purpose is to prevent unwanted or unauthorized entry, not prevent egress, that being the primary concern of building safety codes.

Excellent summary of how the left wingers and their mediots have responded to the reality of their sexual predators!:

The pattern continues:

Weinstein —
Years of silence, followed by “Oh, everybody knew.”

Spacey —
Years of silence followed by “Oh, Everybody knew.”

Rose —
Years of silence followed by “Oh, everybody knew.”

Lauer —
Years of silence followed by “Oh, everybody knew.”

And yet, in all cases, when the news first comes out, people are tearful and shocked and aghast. But it’s fake. They knew all along.

They also all know about the person who will be outed next week. They just don’t have the guts to say anything today. But next week they will be “Shocked” at the latest turn of events and then it will be “Oh, everybody knew.”

NBC is about to go through a C-Suite change. Upper management is gone and a new set in. Too much trash on NBC lately to allow it to continue.

It's ironic that NBC is the venue for the long-running "Law and Order" set of series, with the surviving one being "Special Victims Unit"—sex crimes. It is a real thing; NYC's SVU was called in on one of the Weinstein rape accusations—the one where the District Attorney got paid off and nothing was done to help the victim. I'd like to see a "ripped from the headlines" episode about that, instead of SVU's usual Christian-bashing.

To heck with codes. These people are above it all and I doubt it was done via a contract as Lauer probably just ordered one of the many Set builders to install a lock. He had so much power he wouldn’t have needed to get anyone’s permission to have a silly electronic lock installed on his office door.
