Senate Passes Massive Tax Reform Legislation

"With 51 Republican votes, the Senate narrowly approved a massive bill early Saturday that would cut taxes for many Americans, nearly double the standard deduction and dramatically reduce the corporate rate — all while adding more than $1 trillion to the deficit over the next decade.

Senate Republicans passed the measure just hours after having to rewrite the legislation Friday evening, providing them with their first major legislative win of the year.

GOP lawmakers scrambled to revise their bill after the parliamentarian ruled the deficit trigger — a necessary component to sway key lawmakers to get on board with the bill — didn’t comply with the Byrd Rule Thursday evening. Despite the last-minute challenge, Republicans managed to come to an agreement Friday that placated enough members to bring the bill to the floor."

Buffoon Corker fell on his sword. Like anybody cares what a dead ender like him does once the bill is guaranteed passage.

Schumer put forth a motion to floor the vote until Monday, which was overruled. Then sent out a tweet complaining the Reps wouldn’t allow them to participate.

Congrats to the Senate on passing this step, and Flake can go pound sand.

The fact that we have to continously bribe the flakes and corkers and collins of the world drives me insane.

If the Repubs who ‘control’ the Congress can BARELY PASS A TAX CUT, we’re in for a bumpy 3 more years.

I hope the House just passes the Senate version on Monday.
Then it will go directly to the President’s desk. Otherwise it has to be voted on all over again.

There’s more to this tax bill than what the propaganda about “middle class tax cuts” says. But its what we are getting.

President Trump is cutting a deal with Corporatist Republican politicians who don’t want to stop spending on the welfare state because the crony capitalists want it to exist.

So I support Trump but I give no credit to the GOP on this because its part of their agenda to tax people other than big corporations and keep on spending money on the bureaucracy and welfare state.

The trigger can stay. The supreme court ruled it unconstitutional in the Gramm Ruddman Hollings automatic trigger bill back in 1986. Let democrats fight for it to stay in 2020 in a high profile election year argument before the USSC. The USSC does not like to reverse it’s own rulings.

Please, this is a big deal, a YUGE win for Republicans and Trump, and what the lefties, media, and nevertrumpers have been fighting against. After all there really are only 48 or so, real Republicans in the Senate.

A reminder of what DJT posted 20 hours ago:

Republicans Senators are working hard to pass the biggest Tax Cuts in the history of our Country. The Bill is getting better and better. This is a once in a generation chance. Obstructionist Dems trying to block because they think it is too good and will not be given the credit!

Congratulations, Mr. President!
