I agree with your assessment but I have an explanation. If you are talking to a liberal, you know whatever they say reflects how they see reality. Therefore anything they say, although it may be objectively wrong, reflects the reality as they see it. Therefore, as far as they and their vision of reality see it, whatever they said that may be objectively incorrect, is not, in fact, a lie.
Conservatives see reality as, say, an objective observer would see it. Therefore if they say something that does not comport with that objective reality, it is a lie.
For a liberal to say the sky is orange when the color chart says blue, is not a lie. But if a conservative says orange and the chart says blue, it is a lie. See?
In other words, liberals, leftists et al hold themselves as incapable of lying according to their subjective standard of what constitutes reality, and that is all that matters.

Yes, liberals think they can speak things into existence. Liberals believe that whatever passes their lips is truth - just because they said it. Liberals do not realize that only God can speak things into existence.
