COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M senior starting defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana, according to KBTX-TV.

Two men pointed a gun at several people at Campus Village Apartments in College Station, according to the report, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Police found the two trying to leave the apartments and later found marijuana and also the rifle in nearby woods, according to the station. The driver of the car, Terry Lechler Florez Jr., was charged with possession of marijuana.

Henderson is suspended indefinitely per athletics department policy, an A&M spokesman said.

The Aggies are preparing for the Dec. 29 Belk Bowl against Wake Forest in Charlotte, N.C., under interim coach Jeff Banks.

Henderson of Longview likely would have been an NFL Draft selection this spring after wrapping up a solid career with the Aggies as a two-year starter and four-year contributor.

I doubt that even the thuglife NFL is going to overlook this kind of thing.... maybe if he were some Heisman trophy winner, but not for him.... he just cost himself a fortune.

Shocking that a college student would be using marijuana even at A&M. /sarc

If the NFL decides to “decriminalize” pot as the NBA will do (or has done?), then how do they manage this process?

Legal arrests that result in felonies will keep almost all but the best out of the league. Arrests for pot are usually plea bargained down to a misdemeanor, unless there is evidence of dealing.

Randy Gregory and Josh Gordon are two examples that the league will need to draft new rules to handle their situations.

Let's see how many ways Goodell can screw this one up.

No worries Jimbo don’t care about such inconveniences. It’s not like he faced anyone like Jamis did while FSU...oh yeah Jimbo ignored that too.

I don’t see what the problem is. The nfl THUG league has a 50%+ felon rate. He’ll fit right in. Perhaps, unfortunately there won’t be many “fans” watching...except for the brain dead zombie fans who watch these anti-American losers no matter what.

I thought pot was supposed to make you mellow.

A lot of pot comes laced with other drugs these days.

It is also far more potent than it was in the 1960s/70s which makes its effects more pronounced and different.

Maybe you have read the articles this past week about the marijuana vomiting syndrome now hitting chronic users of marijuana?

Never heard anything like that back in my youth and I knew plenty of daily users.

A drug buy that went bad?

Bad move for Henderson. Could result in him losing millions.

But... Zaycoven? Zaycoven?!
