Hmmm, it seemed too easy for ISIS connected types to skedaddle. Warrants examination.

The guy is a prisoner of the Turks, so nothing he says can be taken at face value or trusted. Certainly this issue calls for examination, but he could well be saying just what Erdogan & co. want him to say.

Did Trump know about it?
Maybe it was done without his knowledge. It doesn’t sound like something for which he would give the go-ahead.

Did not happen.
There were some local converts released after interrogation. Some were forced conscripts others were dummies who joined and could not escape what they were into.
None of them had approval from the Coalition or the Kurds.
BBC started this crap. The author who wrote it did not know what he was talking about. This nonsense has been “in the news” for months.
Assad and the Hezbullah did make a deal to evacuate some ISIS and their families.
Some of the Arabs condoned this, none of the other SDF forces did.
The Asayish did interrogate them. They are very good at identifying each sect.
None of the foreign fighters were released. The number of local conscripts released was small.

I say it is plausible that a deep state column still exists within the Pentagon and certainly within the CIA that thinks they have a better foreign policy than does Trump (remove Assad even if it means dealing with the devil)
And adds some possible background to the story that Trump is thinking of getting intelligenve from his own sources because our alphabet agencies are not loyal to the administration and not telling him everything

For eight years, while Obama was King, Isis grew stronger and stronger and our allies grew weaker. Obama and his wonderful Secs of State invariably fought on the wrong side. Thousands of our troops were killed uselessly.
And Newsweak said nothing. Except, occasionally, that it was all Bush’s fault.

The U.S. military allowed thousands of Islamic State militant group (ISIS) fighters to flee from their de facto capital of Raqqa, Syria, in a secret deal that boosted the U.S. fight against the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, according to a former Pentagon-backed commander, who has since switched his allegiance to Turkey and who spoke to Reuters. Without a trustworthy second source, I call bulls***. Ten thousand to one this scum is lying.

By the way, Newsweek is Weak News. Mostly nonsense, they are not smart enough to research anything and they don’t follow any particular news events.
Typical MSM crap.
