Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) will not run for reelection and will retire from Congress at the end of his term in 2019. Farenthold has been accused of sexual misconduct by several of his former female staffers. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) had reportedly asked Farenthold to retire immediately, but Farenthold refused and will serve out the remainder of his term.

Farenthold has served in Congress since 2011.

The House Ethics Committee is investigating Farenthold for both sexual harassment and for retaliation against the woman who reported him. The Washington Post reported earlier in December that Farenthold had used $84,000 to settle a sexual harassment claim.

Farenthold has said he "absolutely did not engage in any improper conduct" and that an investigation had previously cleared him of any wrongdoing.

"I just want to let everyone know, I absolutely did not engage in any improper conduct. I was investigated by the office of congressional ethics, and they found 6-0, there wasn't enough effort ," said Farenthold.

We should get some women to accuse all the men in Congress of sexual harassment/assault. Almost all of Congress would be wiped out.

Paid out $84,000 to one of his victims......

Claims “He absolutely didn’t do anything wrong”......

Must be taking a page out of Bill Clinton’s dictionary:

“It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.”

Who paid the $84,000??? Him or the taxpayers????

If it was the taxpayers, that money needs to come back-—WITH INTEREST.

All these political & media & entertainment creeps need a new dictionary-—like the ones WE all were raised with.

Believe Bill Clinton paid $840,000 to Paula Jones - or was that someone else footing his bill?

Lifetime pension, not a bad gig if you can get it.

He can't start drawing it until he's 62 and it will be a pension for 8 years of service. Maybe $20,000 a year.

He’s actually one of the wealthiest members of Congress. He doesn’t need the money.

I have known Blake for years. He is a bit goofy, but not a bad guy. He was a reliable conservative vote in a district that usually goes democrap. Republicans sure seem anxious to throw all of our own guys overboard. Dems would be rallying around theirs.
