California, flush with cash from an expanding economy, would eventually spend $1 billion a year to provide health care to immigrants living in the state illegally under a proposal announced Wednesday by Democratic lawmakers.

The proposal would eliminate legal residency requirements in California's Medicaid program, known as Medi-Cal, as the state has already done for young people up to age 19.

All we have heard this week is how the Republican tax plan would hurt Californians because they could not deduct their state taxes. Maybe their state taxes would not be so high if they did not come up with schemes such as providing health care for illegal aliens. $1 billion per year estimated cost and it will more than likely be higher.

Another absurd and destructive leftist social-engineering policy paid for with bubble-money from our massive debt and unbacked, manipulated fiat Federal Reserve dollars

Actually all these need to be supplied at no cost to all illegals. The minimum wage needs to be raise to $100 hour. and free college tuition for all comers. Each resident should be supplied with a free three week vacation at tax payers’ expense.

Won’t California be even that more wonderful, and closer to becoming a socialist utopia like Venezuela and Cuba.

So here it finally comes.

1994 — Prop 187, voted in by 59% of the electorate
1996 — Richard De Leon leads the illegal alien war to overturn 187 and Mariana Pfaelzer agrees, issuing an injunction against most of 187 with the battle cry of “a state cannot make an immigration law”
1999 — Gray Davis refuses to appeal Pfaelzer’s ruling and instead turns it over the arbitration panel of the Ninth Circuit where his guys - who oppose 187 — negotiate with De Leon’s guys — who oppose 187 — and they all agree...don’t appeal to the SCOTUS, just ignore 187!

Fast Forward 18 years and — Presto! — a state CAN make an immigration law, as long as it benefits illegal aliens! Brought to you by....drum roll please...Richard De Leon, the illegal who told us 21 years ago that this was Un-Constima-Tushonial.

I do so love having the citizens of Mexico tell us what our Constitution means.

"California, flush with cash from an expanding economy [???],"

So California brags plenty of revenues to support idea of California Medicaid for illegal immigrants on one hand, but still not enough money from recent gas tax increases to pay for road repairs on the other hand.

What am I overlooking about California?

Before anyone says "Go ahead let them spend their money" Look where the funding comes from:

"Established in 1965, Medicaid is a joint federal-state program that provides comprehensive health benefits to low income people. As an entitlement program, it currently has no caps on spending or enrollment so that anyone who meets eligibility criteria can receive benefits.

The federal government covers at least half of the total financing for the program through matching funds... In addition, states ensure compliance with federal regulation

My mother who has lived and worked in California for the last 3/4 century now looks to being placed in a nursing home. If she were on MediCal (Medicaid) all of her expenses would be picked up by the state. But because her Soc. Security and pension bring her nearly $2000 per month, she doesn’t qualify. She’s too rich. Her care will come out of her pocket. But someone who is here illegally does qualify. Pisses me off.
