A political writer for the Boston Globe was forced to resign due to sexual harrassment. The paper refused to release his name but yesterday Kirk Minihane of radio station WEEI said it was Jim O'Sullivan; today, public radio station WGBH also confirms it was O'Sullivan. He is no longer on the paper's website and has not tweeted in a month.

Tori Bedford of WGBH: "Even if you already knew this, somebody needed to report it with vetted sources, so here it is: "@wgbhnews confirmed that one of the accused Globe employees is Jim O’Sullivan, a political reporter who...resigned in late November." I'll follow up with some tweets by writer David S. Bernstein

David S Bernstein @dbernstein tweets:

>>. These women were in positions where A) they had little choice but to interact with the Globe’s political reporter, and B) their job performance was judged, in large part, by the coverage their employer received in the Globe. ....

>>... The Globe has not said whether the complainants worked for entities that O’Sullivan covered. They have given no indication that they have any concern about the seriousness of that possibility, or the potential integrity of his reporting.

<<... That’s exactly the kind of power imbalance that predators seek to exploit. If O’Sullivan’s outside-the-Globe complainants were in such positions, it’s horrible for the victims, and calls into question the integrity of O’Sullivan’s reporting....

>>>... I’ll finish (for now) by asking that anyone with relevant information or personal experience with O’Sullivan please consider contacting me, or @Tori_Bedford, or any journalist you feel comfortable with. Thanks.

I haven’t listened to Howie for the last couple of days...I’ll bet *he’s* mentioned the name.

From the link on post 1:

>>After McGrory’s appearance on Boston Public Radio, WGBH News confirmed that one of the accused Globe employees is Jim O’Sullivan, a political reporter who began working for the paper in 2013 and resigned in late November. One source tells WGBH News that O’Sullivan’s behavior was “persistent” and “lewd.”O’Sullivan has not responded to our multiple requests for comment. The Globe provided a statement that they “stand by [their] editorial decision to not disclose the identity of the journalist.”

O’Sullivan has appeared as a guest on WGBH programs, including Greater Boston and Boston Public Radio. As a political reporter, he covered sexual harassment cases including issues of workplace harassment.

McGrory said Wednesday there are “a variety of reasons” why the Globe chose not to identify accused employees in Arsenault’s story.

Only heard bits and pieces but haven’t heard him mention it. Kirk Minihane of WEEI has and now so has the Boston Public Radio show on WGBH

So what’s the pravda? Is he an innocent victim of evil feminists, or a real-man innocent victim of evil, man-hating feminists?

I’d hate to get it wrong!

Apparently, one of the woman who complained claims O’Sullivan asked her to have threesome with his wife.

Did Sullivan offer these women a chance to see his “Boston Globes”? Just asking.

The Boston Globe, to journalism as a rock is to a sculpture.
