John Skipper resigned as president of ESPN and co-chairman of the Disney Media Networks on Monday.

George Bodenheimer, ESPN's president from 1998-2011 and its executive chairman until May 2014, will take over as the acting chairman of the company for the next 90 days to help Disney chairman and chief executive officer Bob Iger find Skipper's replacement.

[Snip]

"I have struggled for many years with a substance addiction. I have decided that the most important thing I can do right now is to take care of my problem.

"I have disclosed that decision to the company, and we mutually agreed that it was appropriate that I resign. I will always appreciate the human understanding and warmth that Bob displayed here and always.

I’d be bailing on that network too, with or without having a substance abuse problem!

Unfortunately the Disney-Fox deal has bought them a reprieve.

ESPN desparately needs a shakeup.

They epitomize the political agenda before profits model.

My fitness club has 6 overhead TVs tuned to various ESPN stations.

Kinda like CNN at airports...

Just checked Bodenheimer’s FEC record. Quelle suprise. He’s a big ‘Rat and RINO supporter. Looks like it’s SSDD at ESPN.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale

A tale of a sinking ship

That started out with the topic of sport

Then turned to leftist sh*t

There MUST be a lot more involved here, e.g., pending serious accusations against him, etc.

No one resigns so abruptly from such a senior corporate executive position AND cites personal substance abuse issues, unless they are trying to escape even more serious problems.

If he were not trying to build sympathy for his situation he would simply take a leave of absence for “reasons of health” that might turn into a permanent departure later. His immediate departure while citing substance abuse problems suggests there is a lot more to this.

Of course! Also, they would never admit that our boycott and Trump’s kick to their butts are having an effect on them.
