Minnesota Republican enters special election race to replace Franken © Getty Images Minnesota state Sen. Karin Housley (R) launched a bid for Senate on Tuesday, making her the first Republican to enter the special election race to replace Sen. Al Franken (D), who is expected to resign in the coming weeks.

In a video posted on her Twitter account, Housley played up her deep roots in the state as the daughter of Minnesota school teachers.

I guess we'll have to start vetting this one. I'm a little apprehensive as she's the progeny of two school teachers. "Let the Cartoons Begin."

Franken is just a head-fake and a grope for attention.

Franken is drawing a paycheck.

My personal odds are at 50/50.

I wonder what the Vegas odds are on his leaving.

There won’t be an election

He has to actually resign first

You should be apprehensive that she's stupid enough to think Franken is actually going to resign.

I wonder if she's paid anyone anything to throw her hat in.
Lost money.

50/50 chance of his resigning is optimistic. I’d bet even money he’s not. I’d even give up a few points

Anything less than someone who will fire up the Trump voter, stands no shot in MN.

Franken will milk it as long as possible and watch the polls to see if the Democrat can win

Franken never had any intention on resigning. All liberals lie.

Why not? They know the MSM will never get on their case about it.

No, let Fish Lips stay where he is with his compromised baggage & f-u attitude. Franken’s a jerk; he’ll get in Chuckie Schumer’s face and dare him to recommend expulsion.

After all, this is liberal muzzie-infested Minnesota. Yeah, I know there are lots of hunters & farmers in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but they aren’t in the driver’s seat. Their Gov has already told residents who don’t like Somalis to leave.

That seat is going to held by a leftwing nutjob, bottom line. Let Franken stay & lower the Senate’s rep just a little more.

If she caucuses with the GOP, then the GOP has the committee majorities and the chairmanships. That is all that is really needed.

That’s been my view.

He’ll say “but Trump” and not resign.

The Democrats and press don’t give a rat’s ass about sexual harassment, they’ve joked about it, and they only care that they were caught NOT caring about it.

What we’re seeing is just damage control, not reform.

Sexual Harassment, like so many other things, is just something to use against those who aren’t (D)ifferent. They’ll circle the wagons around their own.

The tax payer funded hush money isn’t going away either. Funny what ends up getting bipartisan support in the swamp.
