Climate change driving record snows in Alaskan mountains - study

Snowfalls atop an Alaskan mountain range have doubled since the start of the industrial age, evidence that climate change can trigger major increases in regional precipitation, according to research published in the journal Scientific Reports on Tuesday.

The study by researchers from Dartmouth College, the University of Maine and the University of New Hampshire, shows modern snowfall levels in the Alaska Range at the highest in at least 1,200 years, averaging some 18 feet per year from around 8 feet per year from 1600-1840.

The research was based on an analysis of two ice core samples collected at 13,000 feet from Mount Hunter in Alaska's Denali National Park. The study suggests that warming tropical oceans have driven the increased snowfall by strengthening the northward flow of warm, moist air.

I told you Right Wing Nuts that global warming was going to happen unless you gave up your SUVs and paid a carbon tax ... and I was almost right!

If we don’t stop global warming the earth will become a giant snowball.

Why do you think they changed the narrative away from global warming to “climate change”. Now all the basis are covered they can go back and forth from global cooling to global warming without looking silly. :)

“The study suggests.” They always hedge their bets. Nonsense.

Too much snow is caused by climate change; too little snow is caused by climate change. Heavy rains are caused by climate change; drought is caused by climate change. Climate change is killing thousands of plant and animals species; climate change is allowing undesirable species to proliferate. I think I’ve got it . . . yeah, that’s the ticket.

Last year the complaint from Alaska was that they didn’t have enough snow.

"Why do you think they changed the narrative away from global warming to “climate change”."

So they could make it sound like anyone who doesn't accept the catastrophic CO2 predictions is a moron who denies the obvious fact that the climate is always changing, with or without human interference.

Just like they morph opposition to illegal immigration into opposition to all immigration.

Yep, they've been saying for years that climate change is causing the polar ice cap to disappear; remember the iconic photo of the polar bear "stranded" on the tiny ice floe?

It’s almost as if half the time it’s above average and half the time below the average.

Climate change is natural. The liberal “war on climate change” is a war against nature. But that’s not unusual for them. They also try to say men can be women, in clear antagonism against nature and nature’s God.

We need to figure out how to engineer a death match between radical Islam and environmentalism - the two worst religions in the world - until they wipe each other out.

Funny how that works.

Should solve the ice problem ‘decimating’ polar bear populations. More snow = more ice = more polar bears.

We are having an unusually warm nov-dec here in Arkansas, when walking in restaurants, malls, etc I never miss the chance to thank President Trump in a less than indoor voice for pulling out of the Paris accords and bringing us this global warming! MAGA!

Global warming—>Climate Change. Can’t run a proper fund-raising operation, if the marks question the veracity of the program every time the weather fails to cooperate.

My husky/wolf looked like she lost 50 lbs every summer and gained it back every winter. LOL undercoat was sooooo soft.
