'Armageddon:' Major Companies Announce Hiring, Bonuses, Raises, and Charitable Donations Thanks to Tax Reform

Nancy Pelosi is running out of hysterical pejoratives to hurl at the now-passed GOP tax reform bill, which will cut taxes for 80 percent of Americans. She's already called it "armageddon," and the "end of the world," adding " Frankenstein " to the list just today. Oh, and poor little "Tiny Tim!" These are patent absurdities. The bill is a mostly-good mixed bag that will make US companies more competitive and allow the overwhelming majority of taxpayers to keep more of the money they earn. But the unglued demagoguery -- including the nutty shouting that tax reform will kill thousands of people -- is already being contradicted by reality. Despite attestations from a large majority of manufacturing CEO's that they'll expand their businesses as a result of tax reform, liberals confidently predicted that the legislation would do nothing to help workers or raise wages. How's that going ? Behold, Armageddon:

Now the accusation will be “personal greed” of employees.

LOL - Americans being successful is their armageddon. They thrive only on suffering and are determined to spread the suffering around. . .everywhere. Seeing all of their progress undone so easily is very disenheartening to them.

They are free to turn it over to the government or back to the company if they wish.

I would imagine there are hundreds of local charities that would love to have them...............

The left and media (but I repeat myself) have been promoting cognitive dissonance all year long - telling people at every turn that Trump is an idiot, failure, hater, incompetent, etc ad nauseum. That is contrary to the reality that people experience every day - they know Trump is being successful, getting things done, loves people of all kinds, and is very smart. They can keep the cognitive dissonance bottled up for a while but ultimately one set of beliefs has to overcome the other to eliminate the stress, and there’s no more powerful form of persuasion than money in the pocket, which is what this tax deal is going to do.

As Scott Adams predicted, within the first year Trump will have gone from “He’s Hitler” to “OK he’s competent but I still don’t like him”. Right on schedule.

I love the fact that some of these companies are now raising the minimum pay of their workers to the magical $15 per hour - after years of demonstrations, marches, and mini-riots by the left in attempts to force companies into the Procrustean path of giving raises out of money they didn’t have, it took only some new tax laws which are going to free up cash for the companies to provide the raises (and by the way put the lie to the canard that all businesses are greedy and will always put bigger and bigger profits over doing what’s right for their workers)......

I caught a glimpse of Early Today on NBC this morning at 4:00am and their reporter was actually saying good things about it. I guess she was excited about her coworkers getting a $1,000 bonus. When they couple the tax cuts with the money they will save from Matt Lauer salary will help their bottom line.

Well said, and ‘right on schedule’ nails it.

The changes for the better this year are numerous in my view because undoing damage that has taken place over a number of years is not easy nor is it going to happen fast.

Everything he and his administration have accomplished has been fought tooth and nail by Democrats, to the Rats by-partisanship is their way or the highway.

As more people start to realize what’s happening for the good, hopefully it’ll become a little easier.

It truly is great to see things start to look up for a change instead of the constant gloom of 0bama’s years.

SOME business owners WILL put bigger profits over doing what is right for their workers but there is a limit and you can believe that some have pushed the limit as far as possible already.

And that is also what's great about all this business coming back to America, workers will have more choices about who they work for - don't like a company that doesn't take care of their workers, find another job from a company that will.
