So after another full year, congress still is without a budget. Is this another continuing resolution or have we managed to accomplish anything to stop the fiscal bleeding?

“Another tricky issue for House Republicans involved the extension of a warrantless surveillance program used by U.S. intelligence agencies to collect electronic communications of foreign spy targets on U.S. soil. National security officials warn that the loss of the program Jan. 1 could harm their ability to protect the country, but civil liberties advocates, including members of the hard-right House Freedom Caucus, want reforms to the program and resisted a long-term extension.

But the group’s chairman, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), said Thursday that its members would stand down after GOP leaders promised a full debate next month on a stand-alone bill to reauthorize the program, known as Section 702.”

GOOD.

Pelosi, Schumer and Steny Hoyer were last seen being chased down Pennsylvania avenue by an angry mob of criminal DACA invaders.

Between fiscal year 1977 and fiscal year 2015, Congress only passed all twelve regular appropriations bills on time in four years - fiscal years 1977, 1989, 1995, and 1997.

We don’t need no stinking budget, we created the Federal Reserve and gave them a Printer!

The need to scrap the omnibus spending bill and go to approving budgets by need, not format.

This Continuing Resolution is no surprise, there was no way the Republicans were going to let the government shutdown 3 days before Christmas, they knew the democrats and the liberal media had the “Grinch that stole Christmas” narrative ready to go...

There is a budget for 2018, it passed October 20, 2017.

On that date the Senate passed a budget resolution. It is not law. It neither authorizes nor appropriates funds. Budget resolutions should be passed in the spring for any chance of an appropriation before the fiscal year ends.

What’s the difference between a budget resolution and a budget?

What’s the difference between a budget resolution and a budget?

The budget resolution is guidance to the authorization and appropriation committees. It is a joint rule in congress to pass the resolution. The resolution is not presented to the President to sign. It does not become law. It does not make funds available.
