Things are getting increasingly interesting and simultaneously obvious. Thursday night the Washington Post reported that FBI Director Christopher Wray had relieved FBI Chief Legal Counsel, James Baker, of his responsibilities within the department.
Attorney James Baker accompanied FBI Asst. Director “Andy” McCabe to the Tuesday congressional hearing with the House Intelligence Community. Curiously, in addition to other lines of inquiry, during the questioning McCabe was asked about whether James Baker was authorized to speak to the media about the Steele Dossier and the underlying ‘counterintelligence’ operation. Asst. Director McCabe responded that Baker would not be authorized to take such action.
Following the HPSCI hearing, republican committee leadership announced their plan to subpoena James Baker for further questioning. [Keep in mind Baker was there.] Two days later, at the Thursday Judiciary and Oversight Committee hearings, James Baker did not accompany Andrew McCabe. Hours later, James Baker is removed from his responsibilities as legal counsel within the FBI. Cause: ‘unknown‘.
Back in July, 2017, it was reported that James Baker was under a criminal investigation for leaking classified information from within the FBI, although the details of the leak content were unknown. Politico today reports that James Baker has been identified as the likely source that released information about the Fusion-GPS/Christopher Steele “Russian Conspiracy Dossier” to David Corn of Mother Jones in October of 2016:

Yep - lots of tangled webs and swamp to navigate in order to do it right - Sessions is probably working very hard to ensure it all gets done right - but the instant-gratification folks have trouble remembering what it’s like to get that “instant gratification” which usually ends up leaving one wondering why he couldn’t wait to do it right......ask any teenage boy who got overexcited when his girlfriend finally said yes.....

On he other hand, perhaps it's best if they were permitted to retain their belts and neckties, for if they're tried in the District of Columbia, the risk of jury nullification is always present, given the composition of the DC jury pool.
I don’t believe most folks in and out of DC had any idea this level of cancer had grown within our government. The pols are too close to see. The rest of us.....too far away. We knew Obama wanted to transform America, but this.....this is far worse than Watergate. You have a cabal of high powered folks in government actively working to lie to the public to create an narrative to either sway an election or impeach a sitting president.
Then they have conspired to cover their tracks via this Mueller Investigation. It will be interesting to see if these clowns fall on their swords for the people who were directing them, or bail. Given none appear to have any military background, only legal background, my guess is they cut and run.
The good guys need to take their time....and turn over every rock. Sure it appears we wasted a year. Trump got a lot done and a lot behind him.....with Congress not on board. I am fine if 2018 is more of the same. Judges, economy, regulation, swamp draining. The swamp is bigger than many thought. These appointees are the problem.
I look forward to putting check marks and X’s over them as they plead guilty and go to prison.

There is always that hope, However, in 55 years of observing the political scene I have never seen such low hanging fruit handed to an AG on a silver platter and so little apparently being done.
