Insert mandatory "How can you buy back something you didn't own in the first place?" comment.

Useless feelgood waste of taxpayer's money.

Maybe these moronic community “leaders” should ask the criminals to turn theirs in first?

Largely an opportunity for people to get paid for junk.

I wionder if it has dawned on the Mayor that the problem is really gangs, drugs and a lawless underclass?

Guns are the tools used to commit violence. Remove guns and then knives become the ‘problem’.

Banlieue 13 may be the only answer....nothing else seems to have worked.

Keep your Guns. You’re awash in CRIMINALS. Turn them in.

“Frankly, if we get one, or two, or 10 guns off the street that would have been used in a serious crime, I will consider that a success,” Mayor Lyda Krewson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Nothing like low expectations! All they'll get off the streets is junk and guns owned by the law abiding.

If you apply the same liberal logic that is used on families who have lost a loved one due to an illegal alien (someone else would have killed them) then I guess another gun would have been used in a murder, right?

"But experts say gun buybacks — while popular — are ineffective."

There they go again with those popular media phrases that make no sense to the gun owner - e.g. "Common sense gun control"

We have an entire nation filled with many illiterates who for the most part control the airwaves and cable with this common sense nonsense.

What Are "Common Sense Solutions"? ,June 12, 2017

How can a political entity "BUY BACK" a gun when they never OWNED it in the first place? Riddle me that!!

Wonder what success they would have if they offered a dollar
incentive for information leading to the arrest and conviction
of criminals?

If the place is awash in guns, I shall proceed there posthaste with a sponge, a towel, and a bar of soap.

I wish to wash in guns.

That makes me wishy-washy.

‘Awash in guns’ — St. Louis leaders ask residents to hand in guns for cash

Maybe...

‘Awash in Criminals’ — St. Louis victims ask residents to hand in evidence for prosecution.

This is an interesting implicit assumption to notice.

The gang that goes around calling itself liberal today, so sadly often isn’t liberal. It’s greedy. For control.

At the same time, there is much about America’s past Christian culture that present day conservatives are not conserving.

They will buy back piles of hunting rifles and .22 target rifles. (And who know that inner-city residents were so interested in deer hunting and target shooting?)

They should check the ballistics of any gun turned in that has a street value that's higher than the buyback price.

Useless feelgood waste of taxpayer's money.

The money was donated and most of the guns turned in were from pawnshop owners getting rid of junk that they couldn't sell for the amount they were given by the buyback program.

The money ran out quick. It's a pretty good racket!

I read about one buyback in Detroit where people were fastening a length of metal pipe to a block of wood and selling them back as shotguns. No questions asked!

And of course they pay the most for "assault weapons" that are hardly ever used in crime. Then they offer the least amount of money for handguns that are used 99.9 percent of the time.

Liberals are seriously diseased and we are awash in them. Where do we turn in liberals for cash?

Don’t turn any in. Keep for the protection of yourself since you will be at the mercy of gun criminals that will kill you. Buy more guns.

I have an old beat up gun that was a handmedown. It is in pieces now because I tried to look at it and it fell apart after I removed the screw. It disintegrated.

Probably a best bet because it might have blown up in my face.

Might be the gun that my grandmother fired at what she thought was an intruder only it misfired. It was my uncle coming home late one night.

I wonder how much I might get for it if I brought it in, in a coffee can?

No, no can do. Even if I get a thrill knowing that I am ripping them off, I can't do it because it is unethical.
