Texas marks another year where it leads the nation in total population growth, adding nearly 400,000 new residents, according to the latest figures by the U.S. Census Bureau. Between July 2016 and July 2017, the Lone Star State grew by 399,734 people, boosting its population to 28.3 million the census data showed. Breitbart Texas reported the state added 432,957 people during July 2015 to July 2016, increasing the population to almost 28 million. By comparison, the number of Texans in 2000 reflected 21 million. In 2010, the population totaled 25.1 million. The Census Bureau’s State Data Center noted that each year between 2010 and 2016, Texas garnered the nation’s largest annual population growth, a mixture of births and net migration. Same held true for 2017.

Following Texas in this year’s population gains were Florida (327,811), California (240,177), Washington (124,809), North Carolina (116,730), Georgia (115,759), Arizona (107,628), Colorado (77,049), Tennessee (66,580), and South Carolina (64,547).

I’m not really impressed by population growth; I want to know HOW the population is growing. And influx of illegals and their anchor babies is a net LOSS to the state in my book.

Yeah I’m not so sure about that. I would say out of a hundred people who move from the northern states down to South I would bet half of them are more conservative and want to get away from Liberal cities, the other half maybe liberal and are too dumb to realize their own politics are the reason why they have to leave their state/city. In the next 3-4 years most of my extended family are going to be moving somewhere in the South to a conservative state from the deep blue state of Maryland. And the reason is because it’s too liberal and too highly taxed and we’re just sick of the politics here and the destruction of the culture that the left has caused

The thing that’s turning places like Virginia blue, and making Arizona and Texas closer in elections is simply the flooding of this country with illegals and turning a blind eye to it. Hell encouraging it through different programs like DACA, the chain immigration, and amnesty. They have tons of kids and family they bring over the borders. Statistically there arent enough liberals in Northern cities to have moved to all these different states in the last 20/25 years to change the voting and political landscape. It’s clear was changing it.

And the left has made no bones about this fact. Years ago they started making commercials bragging about how the demographics of this country were going to be changed by 2020 and whites would be a minority. It’s clear what their goal was 20/25 years ago. And the grand old party marched right along with the left selling this country and culture down the river for a few shekels.

Exactly. You don’t have a shrinking white population across-the-board never state , because Liberals are moving to the South. That doesn’t make sense. It’s clear what’s causing population growth in places like Texas, and Arizona. And why they’re closer and closer in elections to turning blue.

Texas had the seventh fastest growth rate in the country in the past year – 1.4 percent –
and it experienced the biggest numeric population growth of any state. But unlike last
year, a majority of the state’s growth came from natural increase — Texans having more
babies — and not people moving to the state.

Of the roughly 400,000 residents the state gained over the past year, the addition of
209,690 residents was attributed to natural increase. The state added another 189,580
residents as a result of net migration...

I’m afraid you are correct! Ted Cruz is going to have a tough reelection fight on his hands! Liberals are becoming a majority in tx and Trump is gong to have a tough time winning Texas again! I am telling you freepers it’s getting worse by the day! Texas is rapidly becoming a semi-Calimexico! Their sanctuary illegal refugees are coming here by the droves!! California is an open door for them to roam our country freely and settle anywhere they illegal hearts wish! Remember, California not only encourages them to walk through the border door freely and grants them sanctuary they also grants them drivers license and Social Security numbers! We as a nation are so F if we don’t stop it!

Heck, all I see in Kansas are Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri tags. These are mostly lifelong Kansans driving these vehicles. They just tag in those states to evade the enormous cost of tagging in Kansas. Everyone in Kansas has a relative in one of those states whose address they can use.

Do you think Beto O’Rourke will defeat Cruz?
I know it’s early but have you seen any polling?

He’s not correct, he’s blaming migrating American citizens who are liberal moving to conservative states. That’s not the problem. It’s illegals flooding the country that is the issue.

Colorado has the same problem. So many Kali and Texas plates. The Kali plates drive like insane idiots and the Texans drive so damned slow it’s a wonder they ever got here.

No have not, but Ted didn’t do himself any favors by what he did at the RNC convention alienating most of his base! He has redeemed himself with his base but how far and how wide I do not know. ORourke is going to use ted’s famous line “vote your conscience” ... Beto will be a force to be reckon with ...I just pray that Cruz crosses the finish line..it’s going to be a very close race! Beto is VERY popular with the Hispanic community! They will show up for him in droves. I’m just praying Cruz has an ace up his sleeve to bring this guy down!
