Lovely playing and a nice sentiment at the end but not a Christmas song. A great song by Leonard Cohen but nothing to do with Christmas.

Hallelujah is one of those popular songs like Garfunkel’s Bridge over Troubled Water (which was actually about his taking heroin) that get misinterpreted so many times that the ostensibly mistaken interpretation becomes the commonly accepted one (e.g. in the film Shrek).

Leonard Cohen was pretty sanguine about it and said that the more pop interpretations of Hallelujah were fine with him.
