The previous article I read on another site said they had been trying to figure out ways to save it for “decades” so Melania did not order it removed.

I manage an historic site, and, like it or not, sometimes you have to take down an old tree before it falls on the features. Trees have different life spans, and I’m sure the arborist told her that this tree was reaching the end of the line.

They have been growing healthy off shoots of the same tree that are now 10’ tall. It will be replaced with one of those.
