Actually, the warm autumn is a cause of freaky snow. Lake Erie was warm, and extremely frigid Artic air mass blew over it, causing massive evaporation and snow. Now that the weather is so cold, the lake should freeze and produce less snow.

It's weather instability, but this week certainly is not global warming.

The warmer the air, the greater its’ capacity to hold water vapor. Therefore, the greater capacity for precipitation when the air mass cools. Lake effect snow, for instance.
