The abortion activist touring Ireland to win over hearts and minds
The Guardian ^ | Dec 29, 2017 | Henry McDonald

A young computer engineer is embarking on a tour of Ireland in 2018 to convince voters to support changes to the abortion law, as the country prepares for a referendum on repealing its ban on the procedure in almost all circumstances.

Caoimhe Anglin’s journey through every Irish county pitches her into the heart of a battle between secularism and traditional Catholicism.

We can topple Ireland’s ludicrous abortion law, but it’s not a done deal Emer O'Toole Read more Anglin hopes that by relaying her story of being forced to leave home to have a termination in England in 2016, she can persuade the electorate – particularly in rural Ireland – to support the abolition of the eighth amendment in the Irish constitution.

“A year ago, when I was experiencing a crisis pregnancy, I felt very alone,” Anglin said. “I wasn’t involved in any campaigns. I was the only person I knew who went through this, right up to the time I had the abortion in Manchester in 2016. I never thought I would get involved.

“I remember one key moment was on the way over to Manchester at Dublin airport, when I was with my boyfriend. I went to the toilet and saw a much younger girl than me, on her own and in obvious distress, whom I later saw again on the plane to Manchester. I guessed that she was doing the same as me, although she had no one with her.

“How many girls and women like her have to go through all this almost entirely on their own? It started to dawn on me that I would have to take a stand.”

The eighth amendment grants Irish citizenship to an embryo at conception, and came about after a referendum in 1983 backed by 67% of voters.

It's 1973 all over again, only this time in Ireland, as abortion activists try to scare the voters with tales of back room horror.

This lady is like St. Patrick, only instead of snakes, she is trying to drive the human babies out of Ireland.

Oh for Christ’s sake give it a rest. Don’t you have anything better to do at ten o’clock in the morning in Espana??

Oh for Christ’s sake give it a rest.

You just posted an article about a dog that was mistreated and you felt that the owner of that dog should burn in Hell. But when I post an article about killing babies you want me to "give it a rest?"

Well, cause as we all know, dogs are much more important than human babies.

Or so the hippies would have us believe.

So what was the >crisis” ???

By saying “crisis pregnancy” the reader is expected to guess that she was ill or the baby was causing her danger of some kind...

While all the time there is no situation like that...

Laws that Leftists don't like have to be voted on continually until the right outcome is achieved.

Laws which leftists like are the "settled law of the land" and not open for further debate.

Being “secular” does not make baby killing acceptable.

This girl chose to get pregnant and then got upset that it was inconvenient to snuff her baby. Perhaps she should have acted responsibly in the first place.

A myriad of birth control options, and yet these idiots are still so irresponsible that they need abortion.

"Crisis" means "I don't wanna."

For something beautiful --- this is absolutely worth your time. It's three shorts put together. Just the first one (2 1/2 min?) and you'll be smiling through tears.

Should have been “more than a few tears”, not years.

I went back and watched all three. All were good, last one was as beautiful as the first.

Killing a baby is such a noble undertaking.
