Also smaller but very significant was yesterday seeing reports of protests in Isfahan.

While serving there in 72-74;

1 US Dollar - `68 Rials

Today

1 US Dollar - 36,071.71 Rials

Just yesterday it was 35.5K

May the new year grant them their wishes.

Some others chanted “Leave Syria alone, think about us,” condemning Iran’s financial and military support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, whose forces are fighting government opponents in a war that has killed hundreds of thousands of people.

Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency quoted Mohammad Rahim Norouzian, the Mashhad governor, as saying there was an illegal “No To High Prices” gathering in the city.

Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, a Rohani ally, suggested that hard-line opponents of the president may have started the protests in Mashhad.

“When a social and political movement is launched on the streets, those who started it will not necessarily be able to control it in the end,” IRNA quoted Jahangiri as saying.

“Those who are behind such events will burn their own fingers. They think they will hurt the government by doing so,” he warned.

Prices on many essential products, including eggs, have increased up to 40 percent in recent days. Farmers have blamed the hikes on higher prices for imported feed.

Does the regime's security have a tighter grip in Tehran or are economic situations worse in provinces?

The economic conditions are bad all over. I think you may be right about a tighter grip on Tehran

The country is kidnapped by the Revolutionary Guards

https://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2017/08/iran-irgc-economy-footprint-khatam-olanbia.html

However, the government is trying to reduce its influence. https://www.ft.com/content/43de1388-9857-11e7-a652-cde3f882dd7b

If the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonyad would pay tax it would be a big step towards a normal country.

As long as Iran is under sanctions the guards will thrive as they are the working with smuggling etc. They know that if the sanctions would be lifted they would be out of business, that is why the are obstructing the opening up of Iran.

There is a saying that if it was a free election in Saudi they would vote for an Islamic regime, but in Iran they would vote for a secular government.

The problem with Iran is that most of them, even in the revolutionary guards, and especially their kids, want to open up the country, but they do not know how to do it.

The iranian people took to the streets early in Obama’s term. He stood silent as the Revolutionary Guard squashed them.

The Persians are largely ready to be done with Shia fundamentalism.

Obama for one of the few times was right in that case. After Mossadegh, the greatest asset the mullahs have is rallying the public against another intervention by the arrogant Americans.

Iran is a well educated people group. Under the Shah women were as educated as men very western in education and positions in society. Just because the Ayatollah is in charge does not mean educated grandparents don’t continue to educate children and grand children.

Pray that the Lord will deliver these people from this Tyranny.

they do not know how to do it.

You mean, "to open up while still keeping their privilege?"

“..Iran has been at war forever....”

Yeah, well, they’re mudslimes. That’s all they do. That’s they ONLY thing they create and the ONLY thing they offer to the world.

War, strife, death, destruction. That’s Islam.

I thought the demonstrations were in Iran but if the Mooselimbs are protesting in Syria and Iraq it is the same story over and over from these Heathen Mooselimbs.

The Christians in Lebanon use to have some clout but now because the Mooselimbs practice Polygamy that the population in Lebanon has caused the Mooselimbs to have more clout and power in Lebanon.

Hezbollah, which was bombed on a daily basis by the Israelis since Hezbollah was lobbing missiles into Israeli neighborhoods.

The America hating Imposter never helped Iran folks in the last election that was rigged by the Mullahs in Iran.

You mean, "to open up while still keeping their privilege?"

It is just a tiny minority that benefits from the present system.
