NBC’s Joe Scarborough on Thursday is predicting that 2018 will be the “most consequential political year of our lives.”
In a Washington Post op-ed, the “Morning Joe” host slams President Trump for his “anti-democratic” actions in 2017 and warns that a "storm is gathering" next year.
Scarborough writes that Trump's “low points” included his endorsement of accused sexual predator Roy Moore for an Alabama Senate seat and his statement that there was violence “on both sides” at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va.
“Others would surely consider the president’s malignant idiocy in foreign affairs to be the most damning legacy of his first year,” Scarborough writes. “World leaders continue to watch dumbstruck as the United States retreats from organizations that were created following the allies’ victory over Hitler. Those same alliances that Trump now undermines with reckless tweets and discarded treaties carried the United States to victory in the Cold War.”
Scarborough invokes former U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill, whose book “The Gathering Storm” warns that “isolationist conceptions” can follow even stable political periods.
Scarborough writes that Churchill’s warnings will be “more relevant to 2018 than at any time since it was written in the years after World War II.”
“While Trump’s eroding of U.S. prestige across the globe is disturbing, it is his administration’s undermining of democratic values that poses an even greater threat to our Constitution and country,” he writes.
“Borrowing again from Churchill, America’s constitutional norms tremble in the balance as Trump unleashes furious attacks on First Amendment protections, independent counsels and law enforcement officers who refuse to be bullied,” Scarborough continues.
“While the framers of the Constitution foresaw the possibility of a tyrannical president, they never let their imaginations be darkened by the possibility of a compliant Congress.”
Scarborough, a former GOP lawmaker, has been a consistently tough critic of Trump, and formally left the Republican Party earlier this year.
I really care what this nothing burger thinks. Not.
Quite the opposite, in fact. This is the first time the U.S. has been respected in decades.

JOe is helping the left in their efforts to justify violence. Churchill used violence against Hitler’s threats that Joe likens to Trump’s actions. The left is fomenting a rational for violent overthrow or the urging of lone wolf violent attacks which it is positing as as “heroic” resistance to “save” democracy. He is not alone - this is a coordinated effort on the left as Deep State and it’s water carrying MSM panic.
Joe ejaculated the last of his brain matter into Mika last year at Martha’s Vineyard!

Obama took a bath cause we were forced to buy insurance we didn’t want instead of focusing on rebuilding the economy.
Since he had Congress he had to do it then, otherwise it was never going to happen.
And his diatribe is relevant why? Is it because he and his fellow media pundits were so prescient and accurate in their 2016 election predictions?
While I do agree with the headline, the rest of the story is the opposite of reality. The storm is gathering for those who Scarborough pimps for, and for himself and his propagandist ilk.
And has Scarborough ever actually been correct about anything?
Scarborough & Mika kissed up to TRUMP during the Primaries because they wanted TRUMP to get the nomination so Hillary can demolish him!

Joe was once a marginal conservative representative. Today he is a hard left spokesperson. I do not know what his true political philosophical emotional beliefs are his co-host excepted as that is simply a subject not to be mentioned but it does involve a waning testosterone level,age does that.
He is simply a political whore with no true beliefs or standards. Joe is for sale, and Mika paid to damn much.

It might be different if Joe got one right occasionally, there is a law of averages in play. Even a blind pig finds an acorn now and then.

The Roy Moore near-miss got our dear Rats salivating for big blue gains in 2018 election. None of them actually knows anything about political science other than the usual liemongering and poll stuffing. Or, about theology.
The Roy situation was a mixed blessing. I don’t think much of Christendom appreciates the magnitude of satanic shuck and jive that will appear if someone who is a serious threat to Satan (however imperfect) appears on the scene. Where were the pray-for-Roy rallies? I think we are on supernatural warning now. It was better that Roy lost than won, or we wouldn’t think much of the warning. As Jesus said, you need to muster an army as big as what you are intending to meet.
And he’s under Mika’s spell.
