He has a room and is charged with trespassing?
If he was charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm, does this mean he’s an ex-con, or is there some law restricting firearms in the hotel, or what?
Who writes this stuff?

Just guessing:
He was asked to leave the hotel (trespassing)
Is there some law in Texas that makes it illegal for one to possess a gun while under the influence? Which, being Texas, I would find hard to believe, but one never knows.

Most hilton hotels have 30.06 and .07 posted. In a dark nook of the doorway, but they still do. So that would likely apply to the pistol, but not the longguns (assuming he has a CHL). However, I'm not sure if there's something in penal code that treats a hotel room like your house or vehicle - places anyone can carry since it's viewed as an extension of your home, instead of a regular business that's open to the public.
