President Trump on Tuesday said that the nuclear launch button on his desk is "much bigger" and "more powerful" than that of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un – and that his button actually "works."
"North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the 'Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times,'" Trump tweeted. "Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"
Trump's comments came after Kim said in a New Year's Day speech that he had a nuclear launch button at his desk, and that the international community would have to accept North Korea's status as a nuclear-armed nation as a "reality."
In that address, Kim also said he was willing to send a delegation to the Winter Olympics in South Korea in February and engage in talks with Seoul about easing military tensions between the two countries.

Every bomber pilot was an officer ... air raid casualties were typically in the thousands if not tens of thousands ... it adds up.

I never heard that about little kids,but I have heard it about adolescents. Even adolescents don’t ALWAYS blame themselves.

FWIW, approx 19,000 B24, 12,000 B17, and 4000 B29 were produced. The sheer number of aircraft involved in WWII was staggering.

But it is the most insane creation of mankind.

This won’t be WWIII. Nobody considers North Korea the hill to die on. The end of the long frozen Korean War will take maybe 90 minutes.
The only other thing I could see is to force China to let as many refugees out into humane camps as want to leave. Kim Jong-Un will be quite Ronery at that point.
Kim’s Desk Button is a Suicide Button, much like Matt Lauer’s Desk Button was a Career ending Button.
The aircraft I cited were all “heavy” 4-engine bombers. The crew of a typical US or UK heavy bomber was around 10 men (more or less depending on type). Pilot, co-pilot, engineer, navigator, radioman, bombardier, and several gunners. A B-17 had (at least) a top gunner, two waist gunners, a ball gunner and a tail gunner.
As you might imagine, the casualty rates in the bomber forces were appalling.
The standard Christian theological answer is that it’s the result of sin in mankind. One group will sin to the harm of another group until one or both find the conflict intolerable. Then there’s a war.
It is not the size of the button that is important but the willingness to press it.
It sounds pretty horrifying.
I remember a poem about a tailgunner in a fight plane.
He had been shot and killed.
I think it is a quite famous poem but I cannot recall much of it.
Maybe I don’t remember being young and relatively fearless, because one would have to shoot me up with massive amounts of dope to be a tail gunner at 49. :(
Their mortality rates had to have been horrific.
