An army of security and emergency forces on the streets of France could not prevent a rise in the number of cars that were torched.
Compared with last year, the number rose by 96, from 935 to 1,031 this year. The statistics from the ministry of the interior also say that more arrests were being made: from 456 to 510 this year.
At least 140,000 security and emergency forces were at work during New Year’s Eve in France. One incident that particularly shocked the nation was the attempt by a group of youth to lynch two police officers in a Paris suburb.
French President Emmanuel Macron went to Twitter and called it a “cowardly and criminal lynching of police officers doing their duty”.
Actually it was vicious not cowardly.
Interesting choice of words for Macron to use given that HE is quite the coward.
A girlfriend and I used to go down to Stapleton on Staten Island (obama’s sons) every time there was a loss (or a win) in the finals of the NBA, NFL or MLB by a NY team.
We’d get White Castle and watch them destroy things :)
It was pretty safe. Police let them destroy things, but not people :)
If only there were an armed citizenry who could perhaps help control the roving mobs of Muslims and communists..
Ahh well, there’s only so many police, and we all know that the national treasures shall always have 10,000 times the amount of protection as some common citizen’s junker.
A thousand cars destroyed just in Paris? And none of these could have been stopped? Moi, je pleure. La France meurt ce fois sûrement.

French Muslims love the smell of cars burning in the morning. It smells like — VICTORY!
I’ve had two hand-me-down French cars.

Maybe France needs someone like Saddam Hussein to keep the Muslim youths in line. Clearly, Western leaders don’t know how to handle them.
