Take the Latest Explosive Trump/Bannon Stories in the Context of Their Source...

...For the record, New York says in an editor’s note that Wolff’s work is based on hundreds of “conversations and interviews” that were conducted with Trump and “most members of his senior staff.” And to be clear, I don’t know for sure that Steve Bannon didn’t call the Trump Jr. Russia meeting “treasonous” or that Sam Nunberg didn’t really only get through 40 percent of the Bill of Rights before the president got bored. But I do know Michael Wolff is notorious for making provocative claims without backing them up—and that he was once described by one of his own editors as having no skill greater than creating the “appearance” of knowing things he does not in fact know. So you might want to take Wednesday’s reports with a mogul-size grain of salt....

OK, so it's Slate. But it really does rip Michael Wolff apart.

I understand the source of the Bannon supposed quote is very unreliable and a gossip hound writer with bad credentials.

However, why did POTUS and Don Jr take it as Gospel? Clearly they believe the source, because of their reaction.

Wolff is the Kitty Jelly if political reporting

“Michael Wolff (born August 27, 1953) is an American author, essayist, and journalist who is a regular columnist and contributor to USA Today, The Hollywood Reporter, and the UK edition of GQ.”

The book quotes Bannon. And the last time I checked, those quotes are featured predominantly at breitbart.com, where Bannon is the executive chairman.

So either the Bannon quotes are correct, or for some reason Bannon wants to play up lies about him.

I don’t think Trump took this as gospel. I think this is a distraction clearly intended to tie up the MSM for a few days while the administration defunds the PLO.

Seems like wishful thinking, the essence of the story was in Breitbart too. It would appear Bannon did use the word Treasonous. He handed the Rats and MSM a nuke.

Okay, now,... does anyone wonder why I’ve been saying all day that I would like to sit back and see how this all plays out?

The meeting context Don Jr. was involved in, does not match up with charges of treason or disloyalty.

Folks will have to forgive me, but this “treason” charge is straight out of the Leftist101 handbook. It was their talking point since the election catastrophe for Mrs. Bill Clinton in 2016.

I simply do not believe Bannon has picked up on that line of reasoning and run with it.

I find it curious that we’ve arrived at 2018, a CRITICALLY important election year, and first thing we find is that, instead of being united, anti-Swamp factions and individuals are led into waging a civil war with one another.

Folks, the leftist media establishment, the ‘RATS, the RINOs and Swamp critters of every stripe are sitting back laughing and unable to understand their good fortune. Let’s stop falling for their tricks!

There is probably some bad blood between Bannon and Trump. Who cares as long as the both keep doing their thing.

Monty and Patton never got along but they both were good at kick Kraut ass.

Funny, I had the same thought. Thinking that Trump and Bannon at odds sort of seems like a distraction cooked up to draw the media’s attention away from something big going on. It’s what Trump does. He knows the art of distraction.

Handed them a nuke?

Do you know the definition of treason?

Did you even read the Bannon quote?

Amazing how people here hit the panic button at literally anything the media says

ROFLMAO thinking Bannon is believable by the left when they never believed him before.

Do you know the definition of treason?

Please, of course there is NOTHING here that approaches treason. And have YOU seen what actually appeared in Breitbart? My point is the tide had basically turned with all of this Russian BS and it would appear Bannon handed them the means to re-ignite it, at least for the short term. Maye not a nuke but certainly a Molotov Cocktail.

The MSM is desperate to keep the Russian narrative going, so possible BS here?

I have seen some writing bandied about as Trump's "reaction", but I have seen no one provide any proof that Trump actually said any of it. Do you have such proof?
