Drawing names Yancey [Republican] winner in disputed 94th [ VA] House District

WASHINGTON — Republican David Yancey won a drawing to break a tie in the disputed 94th District race in Newport News Thursday however his opponent is expected to challenge the decision, possibly seeking yet another recount.

Control of the House of Delegates is at stake. A win by Yancey in the race would give Republicans enough votes to lead the chamber, selecting a Republican speaker – likely Kirk Cox – and choosing Republican committee chairs.

Simonds replied that she may also still seek a second recount, a contest in the House of Delegates or “other legal options.”

I’m shocked the name draw wasn’t rigged enough to make the D win. I’m sure the D will not go down without a fight, either.

think another recount would make Yancey the out-right winner.
I think his team missed a vote or two that should have been counted for him.

So, Simonds needs to find another way to steal the election in court, federal court since Obama stacked the 4th Circuit.

If the Repub General Assembly doesn’t crack down on all the voter fraud in VA, then the VA GOP better get ready to call it a day.

The Washington Compost did everything they could to prop up the planned parenthood candidate in the lead up to this tie-breaker. Yancey won on election night, it was only after the recount that the Democrat magically found votes. Then they did everything they could to throw out a vote for Yancey. Interestingly, there were four recounts and somehow the Rats “found” extra votes in all four. It only made a difference in Yancey’s race.

It would have to be state court....it’s not a federal position she is angling for.

The courts dislike giving two bites of the apple as it were. This will fail on appeal — eventually.

The DemocRAT’s not giving up, apparently...

After they seat her opponent (which should occur in the next day or so) it becomes exponentially harder as the standard for invalidating a election and removing a seated Representative is legally a lot harder than contesting an undecided election.

The federal courts in Richmond, VA are closed today, and I assume the local ones are as well. Otherwise, her suit would have been filed before close of business. (his would have been as well)

If she could claim a federal violation she could take it to federal court.
I don’t see one, but it’s an Obama Circuit now.

I think we would end up with better government state house and congressional districts were all decided by a lottery - a draft!
