Hours before NFL players across the league took a knee during the national anthem in defiance of President Trump on Sunday, one World War II veteran hosted a protest of his own — in his backyard.
"These people have every right to protest," John Middlemas, a 97-year-old farmer from Springfield, Missouri, told his grandson, Brennan Gilmore, before kneeling.

I don’t question anyone’s right to protest, even when I think they are wrong. What I do question is the right of people whose services I am paying for, to protest while in their employers uniform and on the clock depriving me of the enjoyment of the service I had paid for.
Well then I won’t watch him play football either.
Not every veteran is honorable.
Gee, where are all the stories regarding the veterans and non-veterans as well that think it is upsetting to see people kneel during the anthem?
well,we all know which way this 97 year old useful idiots vote will go for the next 50 years ,(or at least until every state can install vote by mail)

The statement they are making is that our great nation supports racism, that the flag, which stands for the constitution, represents support of unfair treatment of certain people based on race
It’s just not true. And by stating it’s true it causes dissension and separation of our nation
Every football ticket holder should walk out of a striding promoting a protest by allowing it

People need to quit depending on the military to be the only ones defending the flag

Some military are Democrats and/ or liberals. Sad, but true.
WW2 veteran is not an excuse-all status. Most men who returned from WW2 led decent lives. A few, however, as in any large group, went on to become murderers, robbers, and rapists - or went on to embrace loser ideas such as socialism and communism.
This old man, who supports the America-hating thugs of the NFL, appears, appears to be one the “greatest generation’s” lesser examples.
That’s it, use a veteran for your sick twisted efforts.
These people have not sense of right and wrong, or shame whatsoever.
Another guy that misses the point. They can protest all they want. But people who don't support their message don't have to listen to it.
They are protesting a bald-faced racist lie. They are protesting on their employer’s workplace. They strong-armed the NFL Into giving their petty and fraudulent activity hundreds of millions of dollars that will further inflame racial animosity and hatred.
Gramps couldn’t be more wrong. But there’s no fool like an old fool.
However, the majority non-Leftist opinions of combat veterans are just the opinion of thugs who invaded other countries and killed people for no good reason, and old people who are behind the times.
