Why are we even discussing this issue?

Trump promised to revoke DACA on his first day in office.

If he had done what he promised to do, there would be no issue.

Can you imagine Congressional Democrats refusing to sign a budget unless Trump re-legalized the Dreamers?

Can you imagine Democrat Congressmen campaigning in their home districts with the slogan: “No Dreamers? - No Budget!”

That would be politically insane.

Instead, Trump deliberately created issue.

Both parties, and Trump, have clearly accepted the premise that all non-violent Dreamers will be legalized.

The only issue now is how much political camouflage the Democrats will give Trump and the GOP.

And the only concession Democrats will make will be to vote for tough-talk immigration laws that everyone knows will not be enforced after Trump leaves the White House.

Thanks. I know Deplorables are pissed that Trump is even considering DACA, but for him to negotiate on this is smart politics and removes the optics of the left showing videos of families and children being deported.

That very well could be true.

LOL, I’m glad we have folks that can think outside the box.

Thanks again.

Trump can let DACA kids and adults slowly twist in the wind. The genius part is the DACA people need their DACA status renewed and Trump’s great option is to just not do this.

IOW Trump can kill DACA passively by ignoring it. Thanks Hussein ya friggin mastermind!

Re: “...if these same DACA people voted Republican, Pelosi, Reid, and Schumer would be at the border kicking them out.”

Yes. Exactly correct.

This is a complete sellout. Just like they always claim they will balance the budget in 10 years, while they keep on spending.

But here Trump doesn’t even promise that more than half of a wall/fence combo will be built. And the plan is based on congress allocating the funds for 10 years straight.

And that’s just what he’s going in to negotiate with!

“(the) wall along the southern border will cost at least $18 billion”
We pay about twice that amount (I think the ABC figure is low) every year to support our resident illegal squatters, not just those imprisoned but those roaming about our country.
http://abcnews.go.com/Business/illegal-immigrants-cost-us-100-billion-year-group/story?id=10699317

Mexicans wired three times that amount home in 2017.
http://fightingfortrump.com/mexicans-in-u-s-send-record-amount-of-cash-home/
Do that and 1.) the wall is paid for quicker than a 5 year loan on a Ford Fiesta, and 2.) a lot of the squatters GTHOOOC.

Here we go again—amnesty in March and a new wall for 15% of our southern border—in 10 years.

Yikes!

There are currently 800k enrolled in DACA

DACA gets reauthorized for those 800k

Providing

They speak , read and write English and able to pass basic skills test

They have graduated from High School ( maybe accept GED if already awarded - no BS go out to a GED farm to get a fraudulent piece of paper after sept 2016)

No criminal record and can demonstrate good character and no gang/ criminal affiliation

Good Employment history and no record of welfare dependence

Paid all taxes

Can demonstrate residency back to 2006

In return

Full funding for wall

E verify

Pay all back taxes and penalty

Not eligible for welfare

Must provide annual certification of employment, good conduct and no burden on American taxpayers

Not eligible for earned income ,child dependent or other Social welfare related tax credits or bonus payments

No voting - automatic deport if caught in vote fraud

End to chain migration

End to birth right citizenship and anchor babies . Children not eligible for welfare

Stepped up enforcement of non DACA illegals

Mechanism by which some limited number of highly skilled and trained mission critical employees who are not legal and not DACA could be sponsored by employer for green cards if they meet all DACA requirements

We need to provide a path where some highly skilled workers can get expedited green cards

Limit 1million?

We let in about 400 k eligible DACA recipients ( that's about all that will meet the “DACA hype” of highly educated, hard working contributing members of society left out in the cold by an unfair system spouted by politicians and illegal advocates

Let stay another finite number highly skilled, critical contributing workers not hiding from n DACA fraud

This would be good for the country

We get something in 10 years in exchange for amnesty now is the old Lucy and Charlie Brown football trick again.

Of course, the GOPe — and apparently the Trump team — are in on the game.

Trump said during the campaign that it would only be about half the border because the rest has natural barriers that make a wall impractical and unnecessary.

Even if the wall gets funded this year, it will still have 9 years to go.

I think you, and others here at FR, are probably going to be disappointed on this. What the DACA terms will be is leverage to get the wall. He can go ahead and deport until he gets his wall but if there’s enough dems and repubs that want a form of DACA there will be some form of compromise.

I don’t see it going another way.

Exactly—we’ve given away the store before we’ve even started negotiating with the GOP critters, let alone the Democrats.
